Quite true, but UPS will make three delivery attempts to an address. If you're not at home at the time of the first delivery attempt, then you could call the phone number provided on the delivery notice, and have the shipment redirected to another addy where there would be someone available to sign for the package.
But Greenie, if you're not home during the work week you can't get the stuff from UPS. They will deliver on weekends if you give them four more dollars for a special delivery. On top of that, I have to call them, wait for a real person, and arrange for a special delivery. On top of that, I have to wait around on Saturday and wait for the delivery. I really starting to love the post office that puts it in my mail box or if it doesn't fit on my door step. Boy, I hate the fact that I live in a safe town and have to deal with policies developed from a crappy town.
I would guess that with all these obsticles and extra cost and time involved, you may very well have to do what was pointed out prior in this post, purchase in the secondary market where more options for delivery exist. The Mint nor UPS is going to change their format, so it doesn't give you the flexable solution you need. I'm afraid your out of options.
