I am about to purchase 40 1 oz silver rounds from Provident Metals and would like some advice on which of the above is the better investment? This will be my 1st silver investment so I want to make sure I am in the right direction. Any advice is appreciated!
    Thanks!

I'd go with the ASE, I beleive they'll have an actual premium in the future. But wait for some others to chime in.

A lot depends on price. To me, ASEs are probably worth at least a $2 premium due to higher resale value and ease of resale. There are a lot more buyers of ASEs than silver rounds. Others may disagree but to me the most important thing is to consider what will be easiest to resell even if conditions are less than great for silver at the time.

With a 40 oz purchase you're talking about a $1700 investment. I personally wouldn't get too caught up in the small differences in price among the three choices. And the risks on the downside are not going to be terribly different for a 40 oz investment.

The Prospectors are my choice because they haven't been made in 25 years and they have some collectible value that could go up in the future. It doesn't seem like anyone's come up with the mintage figures though.

ASEs are my second choice because we should probably expect the Mint to increase pricing on those as time goes by even if the price of silver does not go up.

I don't think you'd go wrong with the generic rounds either, but I don't see anything that would improve their premiums relative to the others.

Thanks everyone. One other coin I have read is a good investment for around $35-$38ish per, depending on grade are the 1921 and pre-1921 Morgans. How does everyone feel about these?

Also, are there any sites like Provident where you can just buy a set amt per month of silver rounds?

I suggest you use the search option on the site. I've ordered a few times on Provident, they are pretty good. Much better pricing compared to APMEX.
