It's hard to say. The Mint says they shipped my ATB on 7/7/11 but UPS does not have a record of receiving the shipment. Guess I'll get mine on Monday.

Mine still says in stock and reserved. It has been in that status for a week. I guess they are light staffed at the mint on 4th of July week!

I received mine today as well, but does yours rattle around in the plastic more so than the others? Because even after pressing down and tightening the plastic case I noticed that there was still a lot of wiggle room. I checked my Yellowstone and it didn’t wiggle around so much…I wonder if they changed the type of “airtights” they’re using?

Also, I noticed the edges of my Grand Canyon coin where not banged up, but appear to have excess silver – like silver shavings left over from being cut out of the planchet. Has anyone else noticed this with their ATB coins? I would post some pictures, but my camera is deader than a door nail… :too-funny:

Just received, FINALLY, and it's the best by far.....
Absolutely flawless, the column of rock in the middle looks almost HR.
The hiker also is very very defined.
Edges are perfect, withstanding the fact they're not rounded it's like it is a milligon...

Mine also arrived today and is already on its way back. It was rattling around in the capsule, but that's not why I sent it back. Immediately after opening the box my eyes went right to a very obvious scratch behind Washingtons's head. It's not deep but the way light reflects makes it very noticeable.....bummer.

Got my Grand Canyon this morning, it was back out the door @ FedEx within an hour.

Massive amounts of deep scratches across Washington's cheek & a deep ding in the rim on the obverse.

I'll be shocked if I get one back worse than this one (actually I won't be, I haven't gotten a single exceptional specimen of the four P coins thus far released).

Shipped 07/11 and received this morning, 07/14. Beautiful coin. In my opinion, the best of the first four.

Arrived Thursday, and headed back tomorrow. Even my untrained eye sees it to be flawed, and am not mostly bothered by things like this. But, dang it, I just know it should be way less flawed!

    What was wrong with it?

Anyone see the article in Coin World? Apparently, some of the Grand Canyon P's didn't get the sprayed on finish.

That’s interesting that you would mention a sprayed on finish because I noticed tonight that my Yellowstone ATB Uncirculated Coin had some specks on its obverse. Now these specks don’t look like spittle to me, and only show up when the coin is held at a certain angle in the light. Therefore, I’m starting to wonder if these specks are excess finish…the spots kind of remind me of what happens to one’s windshield after a rainstorm – it has the dried on water look to them.

Has anyone else noticed this on their ATB Uncirculated Coins, or does anyone have an idea as to what it might be?

I've had "burnished" ASEs show pin point specks and larger smudges that can only be seen if held into the light at just the right angle. These are highly relective. I wonder if it's from the same process.

It had a 1/8 inch diameter spot above the canyon wall, center of the left side..obviously did not belong there. Cosmetic issue.

That’s sounds exactly like what I’m talking about. Come to think of it, I’ve seen the same type of specks on the 2011 Army Commemorative Half-Dollar and Dollar as well. I wonder what causes it? Do you think that it lowers the overall value of the coin? I wouldn’t think so because it isn’t that distracting form the overall beauty of the coin…you don’t see unless held at the right angle.

I see…it seems like this series has had a lot of cosmetic issues with scratches, banged rims, nicks in the rim, etc.
