I think I can make it work. There's a TD Bank I can use to dump my change about 3 minutes from my work, and a PNC about 200 yards away, as well as a WF not too far away as well. There's also several other banks within a very tight radius... I may not be dead after all! Could theoretically dump and pick up during my lunch, and still have plenty of time to get some food. :D Gonna try it tomorrow.

Today, I did a mini-loop, hitting up Alliance, Citizens in a grocery store, citizens across the parking lot, WF across the road, some no-name bank that wouldn't even let me in without an ID, a PNC, a TD, and then back to work. Found about $15 in halves, all clad, and informed each branch I'll be by at least once a week. Tomorrow, I'm gonna let WF know they need to up their order volume substantially, and talk to the teller supe at PNC about ordering me some halves, probably 2 boxes a week, starting in 2-3 weeks. :D

    I have issues.

Just finished a box of cents, found the following...

    7 Wheats:
    1935
    1950
    1951
    1955 D
    1956
    1957D
    1958

    10 'S' mint coins
    1969S X2
1970S X3 (I can never tell these apart for large/small variety)
    1971S
    1972S X2
    1973S
    1974S

Also a 1968 Canadian Cent...not a very exciting box. Also picked up the 1 half my bank had...was a bicentennial...bummer. Better luck next time!

I picked up $220 in Customer rolled halves today and about another $4.50 in loose from tellers. Seems Dr. Dump has been hitting some of my banks in the area. Same wrapper, same garbage result - Skunk. Kind of sick of having to work off someone else's dumps. Especially when there are 1000's of banks in our area with coin counters. It is really annoying.

Also picked up a box of dimes at TD Bank. Skunk!

The upside of the day...I picked up $100 in dimes from Wells Fargo and it gave up 3 Silver Rosies!

So at least I got some silver today. I got another bank to order me a box of halves next week. So, next week I'll have 5 coming in and can probably keep it up weekly going forward. The only draw back is I'll be on vacation down in OCMD the week of July 4th. So, I won't get nearly as much coin hunting done that week. I can canvas that area again, but it was not good over Memorial Day weekend at all.

    $125 CWR Dimes

Skunk - Dimes have not been treating me well this week. It seems to make the days drag on finding no silver. Can't wait to go on lunch and dump this clad and pick up a box from a different bank here in town. Just one tiny silver dime would make my day, more would be even sweeter!

    Inquisitive,

Have you been having bad luck with your dime boxes the past couple weeks or is it just me?

I did about $50 of my box of dimes and already pulled 1 64. And in average I'm getting between 1 and 2 dimes per box.

Don't use coinstar, their fees are outrageous.

    Dime streak broken

Well I did my chant "I need to find some silver" this morning and it worked. Picked up a box of dimes on my lunch break from Webster, Strings & Son. Never bought a box from them before. The first roll I choose to open had a 1953 Roosie to end my skunky box streak. A little silver in my pocket. Opened a up like $35 worth but nothing else in those. Hopefully it's not one and done!

Decided to stop in at a new bank today to see if they had any halves I could pick up, they didn't have any, but on my out there was a guy dumping coins in the counting machine. He had a big bowl full of coins, and was picking through it getting rid of rocks and beads and junk like that. I noticed he had some halves and asked if I could take them off of his hands. He said sure, and started grabbing all the big coins. I ended up getting $20 in halves, 9 ike's, and a 1900-O morgan dollar for $40. SWEET!

Right place at the right time, all the way. :)

If I were retired, I'd be tempted to camp out by a CoinStar during the day and just intercept the folks like this. (Or like the little old lady who was dumping change, and couldn't get the CoinStar to accept her silver dimes.)

That's great. If they offered some other gift cards (gasoline or groceries in my area) I would become a roll searcher for sure.
