Picked up two boxes of halves today, but after opening a few rolls, and examining the rest, I noticed that these were just like 2 boxes I received two weeks ago: ALL 1998-P!!! Every single coin. That's four boxes now - $2k worth of halves - all exactly the same date and mintmark. Obviously, they never made it to circulation, and this is what they put on the truck when my CU ordered them from the FR. But wow - VERY discouraging. Has anyone else experienced this?

On the brighter side, I just dumped over $900 in rolls at my dump bank without having to go through anything - so not much work involved (for me anyway). On the way back to work, I stopped at a bank I haven't been to in a while and asked if they had halves or Ikes (I always carry an Ike in my pocket now since most tellers seem to be too young to know what they are!). she said I was in luck - someone just dumped off 3 Ikes and she had $7.50 in halves. I only had a $10 on me, so I told her to just keep one of the halves. THIS IS A TRUE STORY: I couldn't see the coins clearly enough, but she [literally] said, "ok, I'll put the yucky one back" - thinking she was being nice. My spidey-senses thankfully kicked in and I asked politely, "pardon me miss, but could I trouble you to check the date on the - eh - 'yucky' one please?" You can no doubt smell this one coming: 1964! It turned out to be the only keeper (plus the Ikes). I'm glad I asked! :)

I wish I had the technical knowledge to try this! You'll laugh at this, but I actually did try to measure the resistance through different rolls with a multimeter  thinking that anything with silver would be of lower resistance. Turned out to be a stupid idea, but I can't let go of the thought that there MUST be a way to leverage the fact that silver is THE MOST CONDUCTIVE METAL ON EARTH to save from having to open hundreds of rolls.

Please let me know how your project comes - or maybe give me enough knowledge to be dangerous (to myself)! Point me in the right direction and I'll try almost anything.

    x2 pre 64 american Nickels
    x2 pre 64 Canadian Nickel
All the coins in the pills are 1964 - 81 including 2 pre 64.
At least +63 - 64 1967 Canadian Nickel. Looks proof.
Rolls are whole rolls of years. 1998 - 2007. All in practically mint and have phenomenal luster. I hit some which are already whole years. Got 2002 queens jubilee rolls x2 and a speacial 2005 roll. Also almost filled 1992 queens jubilee roll and a 1994.

All this for searching through $130 or 55 something worth of Nickel rolls and 8 hours!

(I write one my desk when I am bored XD)

When I went to the bank trading $130 worth of rolls and I am 12 and these bankers are looking at me what is this kid doing. I am usually with my mother but I went alone this time and I went to the lady witch knows what I do. Others are like why would he trade nickel rolls for different ones. XD

Over the last couple days I went through about $170 in cwr and loose halves... two 40% and one clad proof. Also picked up a gold plated SBA dollar and 3 red seal $2 bills. 10 cwrs of nickels yielded 5 pre 60s and a very nice 63.

Nice score Bob! Man I'm glad to be getting back in it (well until I get skunked 10x in a row..haha) there are a lot good scores around here lately.

@ Please B. Wow 10 boxes per week? I"m actually quite surprised 1 bank is willing to do all of that for you. You must have a lot of money in that bank...haha. To me that's kind of overkill, and I can see why banks are hating coin roll hunters. But if they have no problems with letting you do it than good luck. They aren't charging you for ordering that many?

    Lincoln Cents Cents not pennies

I guess finding American coinage in Canada is like finding Canadian Coinage in America.

Box of cents: 3 wheats (1939 2x 1952 D) and 5 Canadian cents one of them the 1947 maple leaf next to date variety.

Edit: I forgot to mention one of the rolls had a dime in it, first time that has ever happened to me. :)

You know what's funny is I'll take 2-3 a box with about a 25% skunk ratio over 1 killer box a month and nothing else. I was looking at my totals for Jan and their not too bad.

I'm sure you'll get some finds with this batch.
