First Strike vs. Proof

First strike is a marketing ploy, I've never bought one and not many buy them unless they're getting a great/fair price! Proofs are top shelf and always in demand!

Actually, for modern coins there probably isn't much of a difference. It's CERTAIN types for which PCGS trades at a premium, mostly U.S. domestic coins.

For foreign/ancients, I believe NGC is the preferred holder among the hard-core collectors.

Allot of the newer issues depending on the label PCGS has about 100 different ones..LOL, but you will find allot of F.S and FDI coins in the Frey, I have probably
about 12 F.S designation coins and there all MS70 or PR70, the designation of F.S
isnt the reason I buy the coin, in moderns I only care about two things grade and
the TPG, it could be a "First thrown off cliff coin" as long as it lands gently I am ok

 

The one with the see-through sweater and jeans, but she has a few bag marks, good choice though!!

 

Yeah, I actually have a first strike I completely forgot about but mine is MS69, I leave the 70's to you foam holders!
