Launched a new coin collection website!

  1. I decided to scan my entire collection. Luckily, it's pretty small! But instead of keeping the scans hidden where only I can see them, I decided to make a new website to share them with the world.

Keep in mind, 90% of my world coins have come from buying by the pound. For Christmas this past year I got a Paypal gift card that I used to buy 6 pounds of world coins. So, most all of them are circulated. Some of them are really nasty. I don't care, I am just happy to have them.

My entire US collection post-64 and all cents from 1934 to current, nickels from 38-current were found in change. (and some previous on the cents, too!) Most Canadian cents from the 60s to current as well, lol.

And scans are not the greatest, either...but my coin pictures stink. So I went with this format to document them all.

This means that now I can look at my coins anytime, 24/7 without having to worry about getting them out, or having the nickel cause me problems, as I am allergic to it. Also less wear & tear on the coins themselves.

I know my collection is not great, and I have nothing particularly rare or valuable...but I love it just the same.

I've also decided to name my collection...I needed a title for the new site...so I named it the "Chasing History Collection". It's kind of silly considering I basically only add to it once a year, but my love of history is what drives my collecting.

I'm open to comments, good or bad.

    Thanks!

Wow, I must spend more time in there. I've bought many world coins by weight, but you've out catalogued my by a mile.

The word astounding comes to mind.

It would be great to access the photos when you are shopping so you can easily see what you have & what coins you need.

  6. Thanks guys!

Yes, that is one of the perks as well. I rarely by single coins and my collection is still small enough that I remember exactly what I have, but hopefully someday, I won't. Maybe by then I'll have one of those new-fangled things that lets me check the internet wherever I am, right now my cell phone is only used to phone calls.

  11. Nope, Not yet anyway. Maybe come Christmas time I will get another pound and one will be in there.

Not only is my cell phone used only for calls, I don't even own a working CD player, LOL! Not working all the time anyway. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. I use it so rarely I decided that it wasn't worth buying a new one!

    Thanks again everyone!

  13. Thanks Ken! I'll be in and out on the board(s) as time permits. I just finished two big projects within the last 8 days so I should have some extra time. And it's too dang hot out to do anything else, LOL!
