    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Still waiting! I was told when I ordered that it won't ship until today. I'm watching the tracking tab on their site.

  4. Mine just got released from the B vault a few days ago, and I recieved them yesterday. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality. I dont know if I just got lucky or what!

9guns, be happy your set is taking a long time to ship. All Apmex has left is "D" sets, which contain only MS69's in high grade (PL's, DMPL's, etc). More than likely, when you open your box it will contain $5000+ (going eBay rate) worth of coins.

Mine too, Dutch. I've spent the last 2 days on the phone with multiple "Managers" at Apmex. At 1st they denied the whole "A", "B", "C", and "D" theory, stating the boxes were filled "completely randomly". Now they admit to filling the boxes with "like grades", but stand by their "you were only promised BU or better" viewpoint.

I will be selling my set ASAP, and I am not a "flipper". But once the aftermarket catches on to this whole "which letter do you have?" aspect, the values of our sets (BU, "A" and "B" owners) will plummet. It won't take long for the "letter sets" to show up on eBay listings. Next, dealers will come up with different Buy prices depending on the letter you have. Our sets will never be worth more than spot in the future, regardless of how many were made.

It's very sad because I was so excited by the release of the 5ozers. 1st new series in a while that I was really looking forward to collect. Maybe I'll just stick with paying a higher premium to the Mint for the numismatic versions. At least that way, once I pay, I know there is no one on the other end picking which grade to send me.
