Where do you guys go?

I was wondering where you guys go to buy coins like pandas, kookaburra, and other coins? I wanted to start collecting them but it seems as though only the latest years are available in the stores. I know about ebay, but it seems that they sell for much more than local stores when I find them and I don't really trust it. I am able to buy pandas and such around $3-4 over spot and online they sell for much more. Any clue? Any members sell them?

    Thanks!

Good luck with the $3 to $4 over spot for the older date kooks, it's not going to happen unless you're willing to be very patient. You can find them, but you need to forget about that kind of price except for the last or current year issues. Many on here will tell you that you should be able to buy them for that, but with the demand for physical silver right now, I don't see that happening. In this case I there are online bullion dealers that have them, but you'll be lucky to find them and some are at $10 or more over spot for them. My best advice is be patient and pick them up when and where you can at the best prices you can.

^Thanks for the reply Peace. I am able to find them for the most part for under $5 over spot. I picked up 3 today all from the 90's for $4 over spot. Its just hard to find them all, thats why I was wondering where is the best place to go.

I was just on the perth mint site and saw their prices. Why are there prices so high?! Each coin was almost double spot and some higher. I was going to pick up a few, but it seems as though there average price for a 1oz silver coin is around $95... Does anyone know why they charge so much? I love the coins and I think it would be awesome to collect them since there are so many different types but I don't think its worth double over spot.

    Thanks

I have a couple pandas and a couple kookaburras that I picked up at some recent coin shows for around 10% over spot, which have already paid for themselves since then anyway. I haven't seen any at my local coin shops. The years vary, but I'm just happy to have some.
