Mint won't charge our CC for quite a few more days, until they sort out multiple orders. $750-$1,000.
When you guys say that these ebay sales have been completed, are you saying that 5 coins have been purchased, or there are 5 on ebay listed for sale?
But, this auction was a bit different. The date for that auction was YESTERDAY. So, he sold them before he even had an order in. So, I imagine that if you had an auction up yesterday for these, you might have been the only game in town - Thus the higher price.
Item number:350455353786 Evidently he has three for Pre-sale I just went into completed sales and it shows this is the most expensive one sold so far. $699.59 but appears it was a best offer at $659.59?
on one of th ebay auctions someone had asked a question and this is the response they got back from the seller. Q: Why you say: ***SOLD OUT*** NOT YET! AnyOne can still buy now... as of 2pm ET still available for shipping on 05/12/2011 https://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/w...ctId=16306&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10054 Apr-28-11 A: The US Mint crashed. I got my confirmation # at 1203pm. Go a head and order now your order will end up on a waiting list if your lucky. Have fun waiting for that order to ever be delivered. By tonight go to Mint News Blog and they will let all of us know the site crashed and tha the US Mint told them they had over 27,000 orders by 1210pm. Good Luck!!!!! what a douche
I was able to make my purchase directly on the U.S. Mint website at about 2:15 pm ET. I had been trying to purchase the coin since 12:15 pm ET. The website traffic made the site unstable and it shutdown around 1:45 pm ET. Within 30 minutes, there was no problem and the order confirmation e-mailed. I am looking forward to this coin purchase.
The thing is his auction ended yesterday. Go to ebay search and just put in the item number and you will get the completed listing and see that the date on it is April 17. Now: if you look at the full description for the auction, you will see over on the right there is a link in "other item info" for a sales history of the item. It says "1 sold". If you click on that you see that the offer was accepted on April 13. This guy began selling these "pre-sales" before he ever had an order in. And he probably had the only auction for these on eBay for about a week.
Even though I received an order number, I don't know, is that "for sure"? Does anyone know how to tell if you got one or if you're on the "wait list"?
You can still go through the order process as of this morning. (Friday, April 29th) Not sure if that has any substance to it. Is the wait list factor open ended or do they have a cap on it to? Eventually they have to put a sold out notice on the site, or people will keep ordering and become very upset when notified of their cancellation.
At this point in time, I would remember that you just might get somebody else's return. If they get returns from people for whatever reason, there is a chance that they just might mail it back out. But, if you still want one and haven't already ordered, I would keep placing orders until they stop accepting or place notice on the webpage. __________________________________________________________
