They don't have to cover every order, just enough orders. AMPEX can claim that date was just an estimate. They are not required to ship then. They could take a whole month to get them all out if they want to. What ever is needed. What could you threaten with, cancellation? That would save them $250. (If indeed this is their motive). You know it's not out of the goodness of their heart that this offer is being made.
It would not at all suprise me if APMEX was hoarding high quality sets to hold and buying up other cheap sets, so that once they made their "commitment" with the FED they can start upselling them. I know the set I got from APMEX was probably from the bottom of the bucket as several of the coins had major marks/blemishes and a few looked like someone went at them with a sander. Personally I think these sets are going to settle down in the $1500-$1800 range once all of the AP's have shipped out the last ones sold and Ebay starts to dry up.
Anyone who made an order with Dillon Gage in the last couple of weeks hear anything from them. I wired them money and haven;t heard a peep from them.
Yeah I got the same email but if I wanted to sell, I'd sell elsewhere. Apmex is a very good and reputable company but I deleted that email. Company's like that only get my respect when I'm buying something, just being honest!
Anyone who took this deal in gold coin earlier in the week has already lost out. 1 oz gold has risen over $70 with an amazing $35 of that coming just today.
Did AMPEX put a cut off on that offer? (I deleted my email because I wasn't interested). Some one on another thread is looking to sell their silver and the best way to do it. No one has brought up the AMPEX offer yet, but I didn't want to suggest it unless it is still available.
