Hello, I have had some unexpected medical bills and other money hurting bills come out of nowhere. I'm 20 and am trying to get my credit established, I have about $550 in silver. I really do not want to trade the silver and pay with that, but If don't I'm going to stay under a world of stress. What would you guys do? Should I give up (some) of the silver for now?
Hmm.. thats tough. Right now, I personally couldn't give up my silver, but I know it's a little different when in a situation like you are. Maybe sell some of it? It depends on what you have. I would keep all older and all larger coins. Example: Keep Pre 1945, and also keep all silver half and hole dollars. Especially keep any 1800s. Just a thought. That is tough though. Sorry to hear that.
If you need the money and you have no other source to pay for bills, it's a no-brainer: just do it. Silver will be around for the rest of your life, so you will ultimately be able to get it all back. But then you know this, because you said "for now".
I thank you guys for the responses. To make the situation more clear, here is the predicament Current Bills - 40.00 Medical bill, $30.00 Prescription and I need gas money for 3 days. Silver I have - 5 1oz Silver rounds I ASE MS69 4 1964 Kennedy Halfs 30 40% Kennedy Halfs 1 Barber Half 14 merc dimes and some other little 2gr bars. Things Like that, any ideas? I really value the half dollars, It took hard work and frustration to search rolls for them!
you only have $70.00 in bills and need another $70.00 for gas? Thats not much.......heck its only a week or two of donating plasma! Call biolife plasma center
It's not as dire as your original post made it seem. You need $100.00. Sell three of the rounds. No big deal. In a few weeks you should be able to buy them back. They'll keep making them. Good luck!
You could sell 2 or 3 of the rounds to cover your expenses, they would be the easiest to replace in the future. JMO
Well haha, those are bills due before friday, and then I'm in the same boat after that, paying off a sleep study and bunch of cardiologist appointments. No its not too bad, I just need those ones paid before friday and want to hold on to my silver! lol I'm addicted now!
Sell them to a friend with intentions of buying them back when you have the cash. If my friend had your problem I would give him $500 for all his silver and when he had an extra $500 he could buy it all back
Good person you are. The place I bought them will take them back no problem, I meant I wish I could find a place to sell my plasma. ha Thanks for all the ideas everybody! I'm now trying to see if anyone of my (co worker) (Not an offer) friends wants to buy an xbox 360! woo hoo. I never play it anymore anyways!
Im sure you can find someone to help you out with a intrest free loan using your silver as collateral
Please move any actual offers to anyone for buy/sell.trade to Personal messaging or email. Thanks Jim
It's not a bad time to sell silver. The price is good. Might go higher though. What I'd suggest you start with though, is negotiating those medical bills.
You know I have considered selling all of it, paying my immediate dues, and storing the rest away and buying more silver when it drops. Afterall I have plenty of time to wait for it to drop, I'm only just turned 20. Thank you very much for your input. Much appreciated.
if you got bills to pay or rent or the electric bill or lose the lights...what would you do? my opinion also is to not follow the below mentioned yea it's better to buy buy buy buy buy...is the price going down? buy buy buy buy buy buy...still going down? buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy...it's at $10/oz!!!!! WOW!!! buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy....wait a second... it's been months and it's still $10/oz.... what is going on? I thought if I just buy buy buy...I would make money...WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?! be ready for drops and rises or your gonna lose your shirt...silver isn't exactly a stable commodity...just be ready
The answer to this question is, is the silver there to serve you or are you there to serve the silver?
Wanna hear my predicament? I'm being forced to spend about $200 more than I make every month on bills, and I'm down to about $500 in savings. Ugh. So in a few months, I'll need to start selling silver unless I can find a better job.
