You would think that with all the good sets that are out there, some CT member who was lucky enough to get in on the first wave of sales would have posted some quality individual ATBs at reasonable prices in our classified section.

CNT processes orders quickly. I mailed them a check on Saturday and it cleared my bank last night.

Just got my set from MTB and overall I am pretty happy. no MS70's, no DMPL's, but a few PL's and they are in Airtite's already so that saves a few more bucks :) Now just waiting on a set from Jack Hunt, then the 28th for the mint to release the collectors versions!

I keep looking for a set at: MBT, Jack Hunt, Fideltrade ect and no go. Think tomorrow Jack Hunt might put some up again?

MBT has been putting them on Ebay in 100 set auctions each Friday. Each auction sells out in between 3-4 hours.

Mine are coming from Jack Hunt tomorrow. I just sent a request to FideliTrade yesterday, and hope to hear from them soon.

Nice, thanks for the update Speedie. I am not very worried about the 2011 bullion versions, seeing as how the AP's will be able to cherry pick em at will I can guarantee you won't get any high quality ones. Unless you buy full sealed tubes i guess.

Welcome! Mostly interested to see if this lights a fire under Apmex given that they won't be able to order the 2011 coins unless they can verify the sale of their 2010 allocation. As noted in this thread, barring anything underhanded having happened (as if!) they're sitting on +/- 3,000 sets that they have to sell in less than 3 weeks.

I'll bet APMEX has sold them just fine. They're are lots of ways to get different address's. I can't imagine they waited this long.

I've noticed the Z5 Air-tites I bought for my ATB's do not "clasp" together as good as the smaller air-tites. Some actually want to come apart if you hold only on to the edges...... I figure the dimensions get less accurate with size. Anyone else having a problem?

On a side note, looks like Silver is about to break $40 an oz... Putting the melt value of this set at a cool $1000 :)

@$39.89 right now, or $997.25 melt for the set...

Indeed. And I have a local coin dealer offering me $950 for a set because that's what they cost from the APs and he doesn't pay retail :rollling:

Let me see if I have this straight.

So if I want to get the 2011 ATB bullion I need to go through the authorized dealers?
The 2011 "pucks" are going to be released one at a time so I'll have to hit them up throughout the year.
I can buy the "collector" version from the mint directly but they will probably cost about $50 more.
And the only difference between the "collector" version and the bullion version is the former has a mint mark? And it is in PROOF condition? And comes in a fancy velvet case with a COA?

No wonder they are having hearings about the mint. So friggin complicated.

    Kinda. Sorta. Maybe.

The 2011 bullion coins don't have the same restrictions on them that the 2010 coins did. That means the APs are free to sell them to dealers in quantity as opposed to the 2010 coins which they had to sell direct to the public with a limit of 1 of each coin per household.

The 2011 bullion coins aren't, strictly speaking, being released one at a time. Two of them are being released on 25th April.

The collector versions are only being sold through the Mint and not through the APs. As of today, only the 2010 Hot Springs has a release date which is 28th April. The remaining 4 x 2010 and 5 x 2011 collector coins are all TBD. No pricing has been announced, $300 is my educated guess.

The collector versions have a vapor blasted (not proof) finish, a "P" mint mark, and come with COA and presentation case.

    Clear as mud, right?

I called PCGS just a little while ago about another submission I have, and asked him to verify the PCGS charges of 5 oz Bullion coins. He said it's $30 for grading PLUS another $20 for the over sized holder PLUS $18 for The First Strike labeling. A total of $68.00 per coin. He said that $30 is the breakdown of the charges for grading but the holder is a separate cost. That would agree with my earlier post where I said it would cost $50 per coin plus $18 for the First Strike label. I took that original cost direct from their site.
