Got confirmation on 2 sets from JH. There may not be many sets left. Don't forget a couple of AP's were thought to have sold thousands to top clients, friends and family. Some suspect that accounts for the huge rise in 69 PL pops this week.

just got home from the post office with my coins from CnT - haven't opened them yet but will shortly, but also just got my email notification from Jack Hunt! Now if MTB would just get off their ass and ship my coins i'll be all set:)

Edit: Just opened them and the coins look great with 1-2 PL's for sure! I know it's wierd but I am also thrilled with the $6 face value of "junk" silver that had to be included, they are all 1906-1098 Barber halves with various mint marks, i like that kind of junk! I was expecting a bunch of worn out dimes:)

Anyone know how the mint going to handle the sell of the 2011's? The same as before? So we will have to go through these distributors again? What a pain.

    Thanks for clarifying that.

Wonder why they are waiting to sell them? If any company is equiped to sell large amounts to individuals, its APMEX. They must have something up their sleeves.

Sure would like to see the original agreement these bullion dealers had with the mint and then the later guidelines attached to it. I have read hearsay and bits of general language from the text, but have never seen a true copy. I could think of several ways they could sell them one at a time to the "public" and still no one would ever know. Besides the link to the eBay seller who has a 100 for sale, there was the Buying Channel who had even more. I don't see the mint even suggesting that they will look into this type of resale. So were does that put the remaining sets? Makes you wonder....

Post referred to the 2010 collector coins. They will be sold direct on the Mint's website starting 4/28/2011 with the Hot Springs coin.

The 2011 bullion coins will be sold through the APs, the 2010 and 2011 collector coins will be sold direct.

Actually everything is as it should be. The mint is selling the collector coins direct to collectors and the bullion coins to investors via the AP's. This bullion series was deemed as collectible solely because of the limited mintage and it being the first of it's kind. Things will get back to normal now. There will be another rush for the numismatic version, especially by those who didn't obtain a bullion set because of the cost involved. After all these collector 2010's are sold, it will be business as usual and the premiums will be assigned to PR70's, like before. It will almost be a relief!

So what do you think will be the long term value for the 2010 5oz? You think a few years from now it will be selling for just above spot value or will it have collector appeal?

Check Ebay this Friday to see if MTB does another 200 sets.
Keep checking the Apmex site a couple times each day to see if they have them. They have a listing under the "silver" tab at the bottom of the page. Consider adding an alert to the item.
Keep checking the CNT site but I'm thinking that may be a longshot.

Also, watch this thread. If I see anything I will post it. Others may do the same.

I think they will maintain some of their collector value. I don't think it will be three times their original value as once sold on eBay. If the sets keep getting broken up into individual pieces, which is now being done, it will help to keep the set price higher.

theyre still taking orders but you better hurry. they dont lock anything up for you so you have to send in a money order blindly just hoping you get one.

Apmex is selling the empty monster box with 10 tubes for $50. I am curious as to who would pay $50 for it. Just doesn't strike me as reasonable but I could be wrong.

Anyone looked into the PCGS grading fees for these? I'd imagine it's not their standard $30 fee given the non-standard holder, but I can't find anything. Also they are automatically giving FS designation to all of these because of the low mintage, so do you still pay the $18 FS fee as well?
