Reminder: CnT is taking phone reservations right now! Until 12pm Eastern:
    1-800-258-7322
$1100 (includes $6 face of other silver coins)

Their lines are *busy*. Took nearly two hours for me to 'get lucky'. :)

They take name/phone and call back 'within a few hours' with payment details. I'm guessing check or MO must be used.

i was gonna try CNT but the ebay deal popped up and now i have 3 sets on the way, i wasnt hep on being forced to buy $175 in junk anyways.

Can you really have too many of these sets???

I might sell the $6 90% face. That should be easy to do, but keeping them is a bit more likely as I have little of that on hand anyway.

So they called back already..and here is the $1100 break down:
    $858 ATB Set
    $175 'junk' ha!
    $67 shipping/handling

Must send in a check or MO, postmarked by 4/8. Makes me wonder if they plan to sell again for those that don't end up sending the payment.

They didn't give an order reference number. I suppose they just match it your name/addy in their DB.

I wonder how all those first buyer's from eBay feel after seeing this. They paid $1000 to $2000 more for 4 to 5 months of impatience. It will take along time for them to recover that loss. It probably will have to be made up from other coins in their collection. To me, that was too much of a gamble.

I'm not sure how the buyers feel but probably not great. I took advantage of the initial hype and put my first set on ebay about 5 minutes after it showed up at my door. Ended up selling it which was a standard raw set with airtite's for $2500. I feel that these are still a great investment if you can purchase them at the original price and think they should even out around $1500~ per raw set once all the AP's sell out.

I imagine that if the mint ever releases the numismatic versions there will be much of the same initial hype, but they will hold their value better in the long run plus you won't have many dealers cornering the market on them since the mint would handle distribution.

Thanks for that link - well end of April ain't bad if they can stick to it, late is better then never! Sounds like the intent is to release them individually which is somewhat of a relief. Anyone want to take a stab at how much the mint is going to charge for em? I say between $399 and $499 each.

I tried CNT but could not get through. Do you think they will be taking orders again?

I would imagine that a certain number of people will not send their check in. However they are giving people a lot of time to get it in. IIRC, they said it had to be postmarked by the 7th.

I dialed quite a few times before getting through to them this morning.

This entire process with the dealers all having different requirements and procedures is a mess but you can argue that the mess led to the opportunity to buy the sets just over melt.

    Hope you get one!

did the phone go to a message or just stay busy signal?

Besides those failures to comply with payment requirements, there may be sets which are yet to be spoken for, right? That would figure if their phones stayed busy the entire time. Edit - Hmm, then again, they could have been answering to tell folks that there were no more available. :p

I wonder what they would do if you just called now...would they be able to at least tell if all sets were reserved? Maybe so.

Earlier, the line was just busy. A caller hold system would have been nice!

I doubt the numismatic versions will be $399 or up. Probably somewhere in the high $200s. 2010 ASE proof at $45 when silver was about 66% of current price. If it came out now probably $60 or so. So high $200s would follow their pricing the closest.

Greetings Draped10c and welcome to Cointalk. I certainly hope you are correct about the pricing :)

Since the numismatic versions are being sold separately, I not sure if I would buy all five like I did these bullion pieces. I doubt if I would have purchased all five bullion coins except there was no option. I would like to get just one bullion and one proof each year. I don't plan to acquire the complete sets. It would tie up to much of my hobby fund in modern bullion. My collection leans more towards pre-1900. I still want to focus in this direction.
