I posted about all this stuff and was basically laughed at. I suppose we will see who is laughing when all this comes tumbling down.
In the past few weeks I have added another $500 worth of ammunition for the 9mm, 45 acp, 223 Rem and planning on buying a 44 mag soon. Want to have at least 500 rounds of each ammo type.
Been buying small denom AGE's and holding 300 oz silver and adding on the market dips.

I agree with everything stated in your post. We are being lied to and decived. We need to clean house and take our Country back!!

Many people thought that in the 70s the U.S. was headed for hyperinflation as well. The one factor that calmed that storm was that wages rose when the inflation dragon reared its ugly head......this time around that is not happening.

You have many valid points, especially the scenario with Japan. (the #1 holder of the U.S. debt)

I encourage people to get into the habit of bartering, as We may indeed have to resort back to that system. The PMs as well as copper (the poor mans silver) are seeing more and more new investors. A couple weeks ago I talked with a guy who wanted to buy $1000+ worth of silver to barter with. He had never bought bullion in His life, but had a gut feeling things were going to get ugly. (and this guy was in His upper 60s and had seen his fair share of calamities)

Many people think that much of this is strictly attributed to paranoia/scare tactics by those looking to capitalize on ones fears. There`s always been hustlers in life, but this time I too have a feeling that things are going to get drastically worse. We just might see people using soon to be worthless U.S. currency as nothing more than kindling.....much like the picture of this German woman back in the 20s when Germany was decimated by hyperinflation.

It should come as no surprise that an organization called the National Inflation Association would forecast high rates of inflation. When I tried to find out about the people running and writing for the site, there is surprisingly little information available -- definite red flag. Below is another view on the NIA.

As I've said before, it continuously surprises me how willing people are to believe things because it is what they want to hear, and not because it comes from respected sources or has been well researched.

    So Cloudsweeper ... How do you explain silver's run from $4 in 2001 to $37 in 2011 ... a nearly 10 fold increase in 10 years ...
hysteria? mass insanity? at what point will you start to look at the reality of the evidence?

I know that guys like you, krispy, and others are perpetual silver bears and don't think there is any problem at all with our spending, deficit, out of control money printing (aka QE2).

Certainly I love the fact that we can disagree and still be cordial and friendly -- three cheers to freedom of speech and the free exchange of ideas.

No ofense coloudsweeper or any others who think all's well in Ameri-fairy land, but some people will have to wait until the calamity is just upon them to realize that we are indeed in trouble. It will be the ones in denial that are worst off.
No one can predict the future but a lot of talk by economists and the World Financial leaders is down right ugly. If you recall on Feb 10th the proposal for the US Dollar to be removed from the World Reserve Currency Status. That is still in play as well as what you have mentioned above.
So instead of me preachng my beliefs to everyone I am simply preparing the best I can, hope everyone else is too?
Called a dealer today for another roll of ASE and he is sold out. Seems to be the trend in local communities to start putting back silver.

I am not totally ready but I am pretty well set in most regards.

Does anyone on here read Weiss Money and Markets? I do, and have been doing so daily for almost 6 years. They often are the on "other side" of the other daily writer I read..usually they have had opposing views, which has helped to try to have a more balanced view.

Yesterday Weiss posted a link to their latest presentation; in it they say almost the very things WingedLiberty has posted. They are basically giving warning. They have been correct for all the years I have been reading them; they lean towards market, which I stay 110% away from. But I continue to read them because of the "other view".

The video, while of course like most all writers of this type, is ultimately a sales pitch for their 'other' newsletter. I always disregard the sales pitch, and read for content.

They offer very believable explanations, and have predicted correctly numerous events (economic). And yes, I imagine that they have had some misses. BUT NOT MOSTLY.

And now here you are posting the same type of data... Hmmm. I believe more towards the "we're sure not headed in a good direction" camp, than the "gee, everything is going to be okay" camp.

I recommend looking at Weiss. The cost is nothing to read their newsletter (except whatever your time is worth). And the video? Well I've watched it twice, and still not sure how I interpret what that all means for me!!

That's one reason why I landed at cointalk: to see/hear/learn what others more knowledgeable are doing/thinking..

    Regards to all,
    Lucy

I'm not(I don't think), and niether are my children. It would take an awful lot to "do in" the good ol' US of A, but it seems we are doing everything possible to do just that. This country can still possibly climb out of this mess, but each day that passes, that possibility looks dimmer and dimmer.

I'm not yet 30 years old, so I may not be as wise as most here, and haven't "seen" as much throughout the years, however, a couple things make me queezy and are overlooked by the broad majority of Americans, which will eventually lead to our downfall:

1)We keep spending more and more.

    2)We manufacture less and less.

If this trend continues, there is only one outcome IMO.

i think there is a silver shortage developing. There is a big gold and silver dealer near me that ALWAYS has ASE's in stock ... (all years)
over the past few months his entire stock of ASE's have been sold ... and he can't get more 2011 ASE's until mid April.

    pretty amazing

Silver shortage ? What silver shortage ? I can get you 10,000 ASEs tomorrow. So can any of 1,000 other guys.

I'm not sure why you insist upon 2011s, or why your neighborhood dealer can't get 'em, but there are MOUNTAINS of silver available.

I've noticed something... anytime someone says "no offense" they say something offensive. The phrase "no offense" is not a license.

Not everyone has an Eeyore-like doom and gloom outlook. For those who do, I must ask you to NOT refer to the rest of us as if we are ill-informed morons, "in denial", living in "Ameri-fairy land".

Sadly, fear sells. Negativism sells. Not to me, but to many.

The prognosticator with the sorriest track record ? Chicken Little. Constantly wrong...and yet many still accept every negative report they can find. Global Cooling. The Coming Ice Age. Global Warming.

    Whatevah.

I'm sure there is some local shops that are "sold-out", but heck, APMEX and others have tens of thousands available for sale.

"Eeyore-like" lol. I'm one of them, but at least you made me laugh. I don't think we are doom and gloom, that's all yours and my opinion. You are right though, about the "no offense" stuff.

There are more than twelve signs of hyperinflation, Here is the 13th warning sign of hyperinflation: you go to the store with a wheelbarrow of cash to buy a loaf of bread, on the way desperate citizens stop you and at gunpoint they steal your wheelbarrow, and leave the cash!
