So I'm a complete newb to this. My local bank is willing to order rolls of 50c pieces for me but I need to buy $1000 worth. Think its worth it? I have no idea if any franklin or other silver might pop out. What else would I look for? Any key dates worth pulling out? Just thought it might be something fun to try. Thoughts?

I'm a bit confused. You asked about buying rolls of half dollars but you posted a photo of rolls of Presidential Dollar coins. Are you buying halves or dollar coins?
Sorry, my fault. I was just throwing a picture up there for fun. The baby was screaming so I was rushed.
I used to do boxes and bags all the time but after my last 15 boxes of nothing I stopped. I still try and pickup loose halves and customer wrapped rolls from banks but no more boxes. I am thinking that the armored services and banks are cherry picking out the silver. Where do you think APMEX and Monex are getting all those bags to sell. They never seem to run out.
Thanks for the tip. I think I'm going to pass on this one. I've got enough hobbies right now without spending evenings unwrapping roll after roll.
Um, are other people seeing other images? Because all I've ever seen on this thread is a roll of halves with a 1964 Kennedy in front of it.
+1 I looked through about a dozen boxes and nothing. They just stopped having silver for no reason it seemed.
I used to find silver pretty regularly, perhaps 1 per every 3 roles. But the silver seemed to dry up and I stopped about 4 years ago.
I'm about to get 2 boxes today. They may be my last as the last 10 boxes had been searched, rerolled and sealed. I also heard the local cash for gold is getting 20K worth a week to search in their down time.
