I bought 31 of these sets when silver was at about $11.00/ounce. I am familiar with the melt calculators that can be found at various sites. These are great for telling you the value of your coins based on spot price of silver and your coins silver content. But I would like to know how much I can realistically expect to receive if I take them to a big coin show (like Baltimore) and try to sell them. Is there a real of thumb that dealers use for calculating their buy offers? Thanks.

Sorry I meant is there a 'rule of thumb' not 'real of thumb'. Thanks

    Hi sturmgrenadier,

With 1.11 ounces of silver in a set, at 33.38 silver, there is about $37 in silver in each set. Since it's 80% you will find the buy prices lower than you would for .999 or even 90%. My guess would be buyers at a local coin show would be about $30. You may do better at a large show or even online at EBay. Or someone here may pay higher.

    Hope this helps,

    Ken
