Trying to grade this one for my collection. Looks to me as a VF20. Would like to hear your thoughts on this coin.

Is that machine doubling on lettering?

    Grade looks about right.
And that "doubling" is the Longacre effect.

Thanks Duke as I have issues with identifying doubling as you can see in my thread called "LMC 2002 D DDR?". That's if you care to look, as with my phone I cannot copy links because I use Tapatalk app, or don't know how if it's possible.

20 sounds about right. If you had said 25 or 15, I wouldn't have argued either.

Typical weak strike most noticeable on the III on the reverse. That's not wear.
VERY hard to find a fully struck nickel 3-cent.
I remember seeing a MS-66 with all the lines in the III BUT many were flat, particularly on the first "I".
For my type set I ended up with a MS-65 that looks fully struck but if you put a loupe on the III you can see a bit of flatness.

I like the die break on the reverse.
    Die breaks always interest me.

Also there appears to be a bit of a die fill on the obverse.
Most noticeable at the "A" of STATES.

Only thing that worries me about the coin is the lines (11-5) on the obverse.
I'd be concerned about a past cleaning.
