    Pricing Released

from APMEX. $1395 for the set. I set my alerts to the individual coins but they didn't show up, so I double checked and see they're only selling the entire 5 coin set as a whole. Pretty pricey, but with the low mint number, I think it'll definitely be a keeper. Works out to around $55 an ounce for the silver content, which with the way things have been going of late in the silver market, these may break even with bullion prices alone in the next 3-5 years. I'll take one set, mainly because I like them, and I got my silver quarter set yesterday, so they match. :smile

I don't think they will be selling to many of those five coin sets at that price. Wait a bit, price will come down. I just got my notice from AMPEX. Ehhhh no thank you.

Yeah sure - then I wait and get none then have to pay a premium on top of the premium!! :) I really want this set but at $280 per coin that just seems steep. Anyone else have them for sale yet?

  5. I did get an email alert for the 5-coin set. OMG! TC

From their site: APMEX stands behind every product it sells with a satisfaction guarantee.
    Question: Whose satisfaction?

Edit add: they took away the single coin info, just showing the group of five

i haven't been in CT in quite some time but wanted to get the 5 oz-ers. i just called the socal authorized purchaser right before they closed at 5pm and was told that they had completely sold out of the coins. unfortunately, the guy who answered the phone didn't know what the sales price was because he didn't handle silver.

the authorized purchasers pay a $9.75 premium for the coins. they must be pocketing quite a profit from selling these. i'll definitely try to get the coins from the us mint when they come out later, but i'm not going to try too hard to get one of these at a ridiculous markup.

How can you tell how many they have left?

Ok so I may be the real sucker, moron, dumb a$$, stupid person that bought these but I opted in for two sets. Yes it's a major gamble and I may completely lose my shorts but I figured I would take the risk.

I would hate to look back in 6 months or 6 years and regret doing it. I have a gut feel the prices of these are going to go north and not come down for quite some time.

Will I hold them for years? Yeah maybe

Will I flip them quickly if they sky rocket? Your damn sure I will

I know I may killed on the forum for making this purchase but like the lottery says you gotta be in it to win it!

I seriously doubt that the US Congress intended to pass a law to create these coins so that AMPEX and others who have special access to the limited supply, and therefore make almost 80% profit on their initial sale. If you feel that AMPEX's pricing is abusive and price gouging, then you too can file a complaint with the US Treasury.

on any product, just type in all 9's in the quantity box, when you hit their max a pop-up window will prompt you how much they have left.

APMEX is no longer a bullion dealer

I just blasted APMEX with a letter to the company. They are no longer a bullion dealer in my opinion. Their job is to sell bullion issued by the mint at a reasonable markup. They have done this for years with Silver/Gold/Platinum....however, with the ATB set they have become a coin store/HSN show/ebay account that is profiting from the consumer demand and not selling bullion. Suggest everyone does the same or sends note to treasury...APMEX as a dealer has overstepped its bounds.

I think you make a good point and agree that they are charging way to much for this set. Unfortunately it looks like they have sold almost 500 sets so far so your complaints will probably fall on deaf ears.

APMEX had a little over 600 of the ATB 5 oz set preorders available yesterday evening. They are now down to 314 sets available as of this morning. They are making a killing on these. Even though I want them badly, I think I'm going to wait until someone has them for a decent price....... if ever.

There is nothing, hear me, nothing about these coin's that will cause them to warrant anything close to a true rarity factor . The only work's driving this price right now, is likeminded thinking as DOUGANDBETH.

I agree with the assessment everyone is making regarding Apmex. Look I am the moron that bought two of these sets but you know I have to take the chance.

I think there are two main things going on with these right now. First not everyone knows about these yet and once they do, the price must skyrocket. Now will it stay at those levels my gut is saying no but I do think quick flippers will make decent money off of these.

For those not buying them yes I agree they are overpriced but if you truly believe they will rise why not buy them anyway? The only reason folks may not be buying is they are not comfortable feeling that they will rise. Yes they are overpriced but at the end of the day folks that thought these would go for $200 were just insane. You had to know they would be much higher so I am not overly surprised.

Hey everyone my laugh their a$$ off when I lose all my money but I will chalk it up as lesson learned and sit on an additional 50 ounces. If you don't buy now I guarantee you will pay much higher in two weeks, two months or even two days.

Thanks all and good luck and please wich me luck! :)
