A bevy of new coins! Only a couple of noticeable prints on two of them.

I thank you for your patience ladies and gentleman. After all this is the bullion section, but I just couldn't resist posting something that I picked up for so close to spot. Now they're worth more than what I paid for 'em two weeks ago. :)

That's mostly on the holder Chris. Yeah that LA eagle looks nasty....:)

Thanks for the show! You can keep posting them if you've got them! Nice pick ups and a good reminder for bullion-iacs to not overlook these 90% silver dollars when buying bullion!

Since it's just bullion ;) you could try an acetone bath without much risk of damage loss to the coin at this point just to see if any remaining prints might lift off.

I notice the slight beginnings of some "haze" forming on a few. I'm not going to worry over that as these are basically bullion and I can experiment and have fun with 'em,and in the end if things go wrong, not feel remorseful......

I wouldn't be bothered by the haze myself. Who knows, a lovely 'toner' may be blossoming... 50 years from now it could be a rainbow!

  10. Ken: Really nice variety of modern commemoratives. Thanks for posting. They have 2 more listed on their site at 22.99 now...still a decent price considering silver spot. Enjoy, TC

Good deal! I'm a fan of these too. I don't see how you can go wrong if you can pick these up for close to melt. You always have the value of 90% silver plus some interesting and historical designs.
A couple of the ones you got are a real good value. The Columbus and the Lewis and Clark in particular are on my want list. Those you usually can't touch for under $20.00.

not to rain on anyone's parade but I snagged one of those statue of liberty and a constitution commemorative for $16 each at the same time I got a 1987 and 2006 ASE proofs for $40 each :D I gotta say I'm pretty happy with where that C-note went...

Damn what some nice commems you got there. My fav is the Congress commem. I'm a big fan of most all the commemoratives, pre and post '82. Nice coins!

A soft camel hair brush, ten to twenty seconds in red cider vinegar, and a dab of palmolive soap and the silver commems will be spotless. Rinse HEAVILY with distilled water to neutralize the vinegar and remove remaining soap, and dry by dobbing with a soft cotton cloth. Do not drag the cloth across the coin. Very nice at removing everything, even light tarnish sometimes.

I think this may be the Nolan Ryan card that caused the comparisons with the coin:
