Where is the best place to sell junk silver? A lot of my "junk" coins are AG-2 to G-4 barber dimes, quarters and halves, some of which are better dates. Should these command a premium to normal junk silver prices? If so, where would you recommend selling them? I hate eBay given the massive commission and Paypal fees.

Take a look at Midwest Refineries. After doing a lot of research, they appeared to be the most promising.

I recently sent them a package of PMs containing a large amount of silver coins. I haven't heard back from them yet, so I can't comment on their prices, but according to their website they pay out 90 - 95% of the melt value on PMs.

Thank you - this looks like an interesting place to sell scrap silver. However, my goal is to sell the Barber coins in bulk at a small premium to melt, since many collectors find intrinsic value in Barber coins even in AG - G condition. I know bullion investing might not be the best place for these type of coins, but since the final price is related to a premium over melt I thought it was still relevant.

I am also seeking to sell decent quantities of better grade (VG+) and dates/marks. While I have met with some success using the classifieds here, I am hoping to find as much liquidity as possible as I have a fairly large quantity to sell.

You should be able to get a good premium for the VG examples.

The AG-G coins not so much, but definitely don't sell to a dealer or refinery for under melt!!!! Put them up for sale here as some of us would be glad to pay you full melt value for them, maybe more.

Thanks! Not to be too promotional, but I've created a classified listing with some of my current coins below:

There are some beautiful coins, and I'd hate to sell them to a bullion dealer to be melted!
