k_touch is the Ebay name-Item#260652485992. This is absolutley amazing that people keep on buying these coins.Just looking at the reverse of this coin should tip off anybody that this is not a real coin and they can't resist the opportunity to make a quick buck. Buy it Now for $22 plus free shipping. good luck getting the coin but who knows. For a 2000 Chinese Panda 1oz silver (avg book price 125-150) this buyer has sold 64 already and he only has a feedback of 3 because in his ad it states that it will take 10-20 days for delivery. This is just great for the collectors of the Pandas to have another 100 or more bogus coins in the market. Thanks RJBECK
I did report this to Ebay

This just another reason to not buy a Panda from ebay. Do not buy a Panda from ebay. In my opinion, it is best to buy a Panda from a reputable local coin dealer or from APMEX. Thanks for posting this rjbeck.

I just recieved 5 of these coins from K_touch, after 23 days. I am confused. After 4 hours of research today, I found out from a trusted website that there were 2 versions of this coin minted in 2000, frosted and mirror ( referring to the outer ring on the temple side ). I don't know what to think at this point, he has taken the listing down, and I ordered 5 more yesterday. Thinking it was too good to be true, I started doing research today. Being new to coin collecting, I was surprised to find out how much scamming is going on with the Pandas. This is lame, but the coins did come and they do weigh 31.2 grams??? Lost at this point, anyone else in the same boat I am????

I have heard of silver plated copper and zinc examples that are really close to the correct weight as the originals. With so many people pumping out various fakes in China, it`s only a matter of time before We`re inundated with them.

The weight and the look are very close but still they are what they are. Contact ebay and PayPal or whoever you need to to make it right. I knew a guy at my coin club who bought $1000 worth of fake silver pandas and was reimbursed in full thru PayPal or ebay or both. I'm not sure of the details!!

check out this guys website. good luck

Well, K_Touch has been NARU'd, so he won't be selling anymore fake Pandas, at least under that screen name. But, as usually happens, he'll be back shortly with a new ID. Happens everyday, and probably will continue to happen, as eBay demonstrates how powerless they are to stop it.

I also just found out on 10/9 after he sold over 130 bogus coins .I called and reported to ebay and sent messages to the buyers I was able to get a hold of to let them know they had bought counterfeit coins

I think Pandas are interesting and nice looking coins and can certainly be good investments, but the only ones that I am willing to own are in slabs or in the original Chinese mint plastic that are sold from reputable dealers The slab isn't as much about the quality of the coin but as much as helping to authenticate that it is indeed a real Panda. (yeah I know about the fake slabs too)

In the Numismatist they talked about counterfeiters in this month's issue. In China you can buy counterfeit Morgan Dollars by the barrel load.
