I don't think you have read this thread entirely, or don't realize it is from Late January/early February. At the time silver was headed lower and nobody in their right mind was think silver at $23 an ounce. Yet, here we are today. I'm waiting to hear, ImRich's opinion. I think he owes me that from our gentleman's bet.

I don't think anyone is saying silver will drop below $17 an ounce. But, I'm willing to say that won't happen this year.

If you are replying to me, than I will admit that I have not read the entire thread. It is possible for silver to fall to $17 (or lower) from these current levels but the chances are very slim that this will happen this year. I do not see silver falling to $17 (or below) from these current levels for the rest of this year. What will silver do in 2011? Nobody knows. No one really knows and ALL of us are just guessing. Some are "educated" guesses and some are just wild guesses from the blue.

I bet Pale wishes this thread would die and do so quickly. No one likes a daily repetition of being reminded that they made a mistake. Although Silver may well fall dramatically at some point, the profit taking hasn't knocked the bottom out of it yet. And with the gloomy economic future, it may not for some time yet, if ever ?

I think Pale was the one who started this Thread and said Silver would break $23 before the end of 2010 and Silver Surfer had his back. I would think for Pale and Silver Surfer
that they enjoy seeing this post live on so to they can bask in their glory before the naysayers. I give them both props!

In the time I have been here I have read a lot of what Silver Surfer has had to say and I must say that I have thoroughly enjoyed his postings on Silver.

    great prediction!

    i bought over 500 ASE's, 1/2 bag of Franklins, and 22 AGE's in October 2009 as a hedge against a falling dollar ...
tidy profit on that so far

i hope the new prediction of $35 silver in 2011 comes true ... however i have NO IDEA where gold and silver are going.
i just hope it's higher than now in 10 years when i retire.

    A Reading/Comprehension Problem

To Paraphrase the Road Boss in Cool Hand Luke: "I believe what we have here is a failure to communicate". I may be in error, but I've reviewed the posts of this thread and they seem to support my memory that only 2 individuals committed themselves in the initial portion of this post, namely pale ridder and myself.

I personally commend pale ridder for at least taking the risk of being ridiculed by others for his prognostications, although he was relatively safe by taking both a long and short position on Silver. Regardless, unlike yourself he was the OP (Post #1) of this thread, and took a position!! Individuals ridiculed him, and he apologized for taking a position. You can't win a race unless you enter, watching doesn't qualify as part of the competition!!

I placed post #2, proposing a favorable wager to all that pale ridders' highest Silver price prediction would be unrealized in 2010.

You happened to meander on through, asking questions, and stating in post #9: "
I'm thinking of taking you up on that.". I'm certain others may have also been "thinking", but that doesn't constitute an "action".

I believe you may have selective memory, reading deficiency, comprehension deficiency, or all of the aforementioned, as I clearly stated in post #10 the terms for an agreement between myself and any individual willing to accept my proposed wager.

I suggest that you find someone objective to assist you in comprehending the agreement terms which I clearly stated in post #10 of this thread, as follows:
"Verbal written acceptance on this site will constitute a contractual agreement, witnessed by those placing subsequent posts, and all viewers. A PM would be submitted by both parties, subsequent to the public agreement, providing the legal respective name/address of the individual contracting parties, verified by private transmission of photo ID."

In post #12 pale ridder again committed himself, thus: "
I do think silver is way under valued and yes at some point will go over $23 this year maybe?"

You, unlike myself and pale ridder, played it safe, being non-commital, stating in post #13: "
I just wouldn't want us to get in trouble in such a public place. But a gentlemen's bet isn't really gambling. Let's see what happens this year....". Observing an event doesn't constitute involvement, or any "action". I'm sorry, but where I come from you can't win the lottery, unless you purchase a ticket. The terms for a contractual agreement were as heretofore clearly stated, but unaccepted by you. Stating that you may have selected the winner, doesn't result in a payout.

I may be in error, but I believe if there is any winner in the thread, with humility I bow to pale ridder, acknowledging his bravery in repeatedly humbly taking a correct position. PALE RIDDER, you are the MAN, thank you for your prediction.

I readily admit that I did not see this pop up in price. It is weird to me (but I'll make a few bucks)

Well, as I said, I'm not expecting any pay out. It was a gentleman's bet, which I guess you didn't agree to, by not acknowledging it. That's fine, all I was asking for in this gentleman's bet was your opinion, and you have given it. Good day.
