I was just able to pick up 15yrs of the uncirculated 1oz silver Kangaroos on all original cards from a dealer in Australia for $560 missing 2005,07,08 Just wondering if I made a good investment. Not having a world coin book I really don't know prices only the mintages, which averages to about 40,000 a year. Thanks RB
Look on APMEX for some prices.... Looks like you got a great deal for 15 kangaroos. Some of those are going for $40.00 to $80.00 a coin for earlier years.
Many of the world silver bullion and proof coins have very low mintages but are priced well above spot. If you like the series (or some specific coin) and want to collect it, then go for it. However, I would be reluctant to invest in silver that is priced so high. Just my opinion though. TC
Those coins are only "bullion" in name but are really collector piece's that sell for a vary large % over spot and are not a good way to invest in bullion, but there are a few people that go nuts for them but i would describe them as coin collectors vs billion investors.
I don't think there is a lot of numismatic value ? But with the current trend in Silver prices, you may have made a good investment ?
I agree with you about the price over spot is high for investing I was really looking at the coin collectors veiw. I am always looking for the silver coin that seems to be a long time favorite and pay as little over spot as possible. Thanks Randy
You did good. Sounds like you like them too. I happen to favor Kookoburrs over Kangaroos. You will have a better chance of bringing the collection up to day with just a few of the more recent ones still needed. It will be a wonderful set. Congratulations!
australian kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras and lunar series were magnificent. i loved them. quality is excellent.
