I actually overpaid a bit on that coin. I bought it in early May on ebay for $245 + $5 shipping. It was a "Buy It Now" coin, not an auction coin, and the BIN coins tend to be a bit overpriced. However, I thought thought the color was really interesting and on both sides! I think it probably would have sold for around $180 to $190 in a regular auction. The value of an NGC MS-64 regular untoned 1888 is around $132. So there was a toning premium of between 1.5x (fair market value) to 1.85x (what I paid).

I actually just bought another 1888 that I liked even more than that one, and I've been thinking about selling it this one, however I doubt I could even get close to getting my money out of it.
