I am a collector of rare Antiquities, and Vintage Items.

I recently came upon a group of collections, from my Grandfather's,( born in 1890), found in his walk-in safe. In it besides many Gold Coins ( which I will be keeping). I, also, came across a Box Full of Medals and Medallions. My Grand Father was a Surgeon, and a gentleman of great means. He KNEW what he was collecting.

The avatar I am using on this site is the Medal ( 2 1/4"), by the Famous German Engraver Karl Goetz. This Medal or Medallion, is just one of many that I have of various Origin. From my research this is one of a handful that he made, It is the German Lusitania Commerative, celebrating the sinking of this Ship. It is the right color, correct date, 5 Mai 1915 Proof, of which less then a hand full, are known to exist. ( later to be corrected to the right date of 7 Mai 1915, which is the correct date. As I do not know much about Medals and Medallions, I am looking for assistance in the best way to Auction this Medallion.
