Went through a box of cents (last week) and not counting some minor errors (and 4 wheats) I pretty much got skunked.... Opened up a box last night...
I did try the toothpick and your right they didn't pop or move. They are solid. What looks to me like letters are raised high just like the date...

That's what I thought at first too Richard... But even though you can't make out the rest of the "letters" they are each spread apart at equal...
