Hey green. I have noticed you have had various images of P-38s as your avatar. I am a huge aviation buff and the P-38 is one of my all time favorites. Do you have any connection with the aircraft or, like me, are you just a huge fan? :)

Well, my order status on both my UHR and my Lincoln proof has been moved from On Hold Status to In Process Status. The cancel button has been removed which is a good thing. Usually means that things are moving along. :) I ended up trading my first Lincoln proof to two really nice Morgan dollars. So I just reordered. Fortunately, I got my order in before they sold out! Whew! See ya.

Darn you Ken! Of course you had to throw a bit of trivia out there that I can answer, but that would be at the sacrifice of my 2000th post and I am not ready to make that committment yet. LOL!

Hi green remember i'm the coltrane guy.I heard that alot of these bicentenniel proof and mint sets went over seas like I said in my post . I think these are going to be worth a nice taste eventually. How many do you have do you still have it? I was always curious about these sets still don;t know why they are so cheap to obtain. I wander how many collectors have these. Just my curious mind

      Joe the coltrane guy.

Yeah that's what it was, I watched a show a couple years ago on aecs. Did you know there were Luftwafte pilots who got over like 250 kills on the Russians. The russian pilots were not that great and the planes weren't either.

Were they the ones who had 38 and 46 "kills"?

Yeah, I saw your post today. I wish I could see this coin. Hopefully, some of the mags will show some pics. Either way, I will get this next year, some how, some way.

Hey Ken, Just read your messages that you tried to send me back on the 16th but I never got them. Hee Hee. Maybe we'll get it one of these days. Our situations are nearly identicle. Just like you I am working on a complete set of UNC peace dollars amongst other things. My main specialty is comms. My dad told me the same thing about coins.... get the most perfect one so I only bought the proof. I have finally reached a point in my life several years ago that I was able to go back and buy all the gold proof and then the silver UNC. I am working on the UNC gold. Most of my collection consists of modern stuff from the mint and it has to be in OGP. I used to pick and chose what I was buying from the mint when I quickly learned that the stuff I didn't buy ended up being worth the most, so now I buy everything. I am glad I met you. I think you and I will have a lot to share and talk about over the years. Talk to you later.

Afternoon Joe; just wanted to add, that along with what I mentioned yesterday, I am assembling a set of Peace Dollars, something that I never thought I'd be able to do. Except for a few years they really are quite affodable.

I'm really big on modern commem's too joe. I started to collect them on a gradual basis beginning in 2000 but since then I have been collecting them in earnest. When I was a kid growing up my father encouraged me to buy only proof coins as I could only afford one type of coin...get the perfect one he said. We know that proof is a process of production not a condition but both he and I were not as enlightened back then. Anyway....as I got older and richer (lol) I started buying both proof and unc. Then came marriage and a reduction in capital for purchasing (kids, school, you know the drill). Bottom line I'm back in much better financial straits (good Lord willing) and I buy quite a lot of stuff from the mint. Used to be only proof sets and mint sets, now it's everything...if I like it I'll buy it (boss still has a say but she's cool). I'd love to get some of the FS coins that have the more classic designs....like Jeffersons' Liberty (I've got the proof and unc.) I see you like and collect them all. Should be some real rarities in this series Joe.

Yep, got your message no problem. I don't like how that whole thing is set up. It is not user friendly and really confusing in my opinion. I noticed yesterday that you had mentioned about my fs coins. I appreciate your nice comments. My real love is commems. I am currently working on photographing all my coins and my commems are the bulk of them. Every year it is getting harder and harder to afford these coins. The mint is killing us! Next year is going to be brutal with all the coins comming out. Do you have any coin interests?
