He got them as a kid, He is a coin collector, and didn't check them until many years later...Not sure I understand.

Weight of 1838 half dollar I just bought a nice 1838 half dollar on Ebay for my type set. I weighed it on my cocaine scale, and it weigh's 0.46....
I haven't seen a 2009 or 2010 Penny, nickel or dime in Maine yet.
I think it is a really nice coin..Let me know the results of the slabing.
