I am pleased to meet you. I appreciate the offer of frienship. If there is any way I can read your poetry that would please me. Your idea of collecting coins from your date of birth is a great idea. Do you collect from all countries? Looking forward to further correspondence with you. I smile as I read this post. My language seems quite stilted. I'm just a stilted kind of guy. Just went for my dictionary. Had to make sure "stilted" didn't mean something wierd. Interesting how words pop into ones head.

I don't know if there is a way to correct it or not, but I would definitely try! I was born and raised in San Francisco and only the undesirables called it 'Frisco'. (LOL)

Hello Clinker, I was looking through old threads and found your post re: canada's first circulating colored coin. It was a big surprise to me. I found and saved the very coin you mentioned, thinking, how unusual. All the information you mentioned I knew nothing about. I am so excited...thank you very much. Especially, the silver dollar coin--never knew about it. MY OWN COUNTRY, it is too much.

The place to look for older Maui Trade Dollars is in souvenir Shops. The 2009s should be available at the Maui Chamber of Commerce.

Cool 2009 Maui Trade Dollar. Most of my family is living in Maui now so I've bought a few of them on my visits, but haven't gotten the 2009 yet. Would love to assemble a full set in a Dansco album someday. Especially of the silver versions, but I bet some of those are hard to find!

You are on the right track! Thanks for the post. Wasn;t sure if it was OK to put on CT, but here are pics of the 2 pages in the January 1959 Numismatist for you to look at. I'll ask Doug if OK to post to CT.
