My great grandfather placed all his favorite coins into foam backed jewelry boxes about 50 years ago. All prototype and proof coins from flying eagles to all Indian Head cent dates. Really interested to learn the best way to tackle preserving the series to stabilize damage... Tested denatured alcohol on circulated coins and it dissolved most of the verdigris but afraid of how to tackle the BU and Proof coins?
