Has anyone heard of or read anything about this? I saw one the other day and it looked rather cool. Thanks
hmmmmmm....not that I can say with certainty, there is a 55-S Roosevelt that is a doubled die variety with doubling in the motto IGWT and also Roosevelt's lips and eye. The die state will dictate the strength of doubling of these areas, I'm sure one could be akin to the Franklin half as having fangs, but I would assume a bit of fantasy would be needed to see Dracula.
I haven't heard of the dime version of the Bugs Bunny either. Only the Franklin half. I'm of course interested to hear more details if so...
So if I understand correctly, we're talking about two entirely different classes of error-types... the error with the 55-S Roosevelt is a double die, rather than the die-clashing as with the Franklin Bugs Bunny?
Maybe so CheetahCats, we know the wing feathers of the small eagle on the reverse of the Franklin half clashed and marked the obverse die right under Ben's nose. Now, I don't know what Duke was looking at, but this scenario (doubled die) could be the cause for the anomaly seen on the 1955-S dime. ~shrugging shoulders~
Understand... I believe some time ago around March-ish, someone else had a similar enquiry about a dime, and was referring to it as a Bugs Bunny too...
