Gold—I’ll buy at any spot price but I am selective as to what I buy. I’ll buy gold at spot when it looks like this.

Care to let us know how you calculate spot on these?
I've picked up a few bits off epay but usually the hosted picture doesn't represent what they ship and has way too much white quartz in it.
I can fall down in the desert and find white quartz :p
I don't want it adding weight to what is supposed to be pure gold.

Mike at goldnuggetsales.com was supposed to be selling gold at wholesale.
Not necessarily spot but at $64 a gram for half gram nuggets ruffly plus shipping it's not the worst buy in quantity for people who assemble/sell paydirt bags or make nugget jewlery.

I just do the best I can by taking the weight of the nuggets and the number of grams in an ounce and the spot price and apply basic math. You’ll never be accurate but close is good enough.

I bought 1/4 ounce of flakes from chickenminer out of Alaska for a reasonable price BUT wasn't expecting the gold to be so coppery...I thought Alaskan gold generally a higher grade like Australia.
I wasn't impressed, my local dust and pickers look to be a higher grade in Arizona.
The chickenminer Gold was -40 mesh and SOLD as flakes/dust.
Yeah it's really small, small enough that I'm going to leave it in the glass vile and not add it to the other nugget patch.

I like to buy while it’s still available.
I don’t price PMs in fiat currency.

I don't pay any attention to spot, but buy dollar-cost-averaging CACed pre-1933 MS "clean-fields" Gold @ ~CDN quote price, immediately when offered by my on-road coin show dealers.

Dependent upon what John offers for a graded product, many will probably be re-submitted to be a CAC grade slab.

I believe CAC may have diminished its' quality by handling average "market-graded" top-tier TPG coins.

    JMHO

I hope I haven't "crossed a line" with my logic approach.

I didn’t say anything about AU $2.50 Indians at spot but I paid spot price for that one about 10 years ago.

I just found out through a friend that a guy he knows
Somebody somewhere is getting a few at spot.
Pawn shops, gold and silver stores?

You saying they have lowered their threshold in stickering coins ? Gold coins ?

    As of when ?

Doug/I/Others have discussed the degradation of the TPG systems over the years, since what is believed the only legally acceptable 1977 ANA Illustrated Published grading standard.

Currently, it is common to find MS67 TPG graded coins that wouldn't meet those MS60 criteria.

The standard has been diminished since subjective photograde was introduced, where the original retained description didn't match the image!

A singular exception would be found to void the new standard unless the complete initial standard was voided by vote from proper authorities.

An objective court finding would probably find additions acceptable but not a complete change without voiding an internationally recognized firms' published standard.

Court precedents have already been established which support the arguments stated.

    JMHO

I have the ANA book (7th Edition)....if they have an MS-60 picture, I will compare to an MS-67 and report back.

    At what price?
    I FINALLY secured a 1/10oz
    2022 type 2 $5 eagle in MS70
for ONE of the Coin club meetings end of year raffle prize.
Been hunting one most of the month and as the gold spot price went up I was always getting outbid.
This was probably the 60th one I had a solid bid on.
I better not get any complaints from the winner at $5 a ticket :D Screenshot_20221120-171610.png
