    which would you buy?

    1-2 rolls of ASE's?

    1-2 rolls of Maple Leafs?

    1-2 rolls of Kookaburra's?

    Or a kilo 2009 Kookaburra?

The Kilo looks really cool not sure of re-sale value though.

    I already have (20) 1 ounce bars, (20) ASE's and (5) 10 ounce bars

  3. Many will advise you to buy as close to spot as possible, but I would suggest the ASEs for reasons I have already stated in many other posts (e.g., potential future numismatic value, guaranteed purity, beautiful design, highly recognizable, likely greater demand due to the above, etc.). I too agree with TopcatCoin and fools_gold

If I was a Canadian or Australian citizen, I might think about buying from my own Mint, and of course whatever you buy to buy as low as possible, like about 75 minutes ago, and from the dealer with the least premiums, surcharges, lowest shipping... buy local if you can to avoid extras.

ASEs are best by test, but Maple Leafs are probably just about as good. Kilo bars might be tough to sell for full value under certain market conditions.

I would and just did actually buy 2 rolls of Mexican Libertads (1983 variety). They are wonderful chunky coins and I love the edge lettering.

Kooks are ok for a single coin collection but the premiums are outrageous. Maples Leafs are dull and boring and I have plenty of ASE's. Add a little spice to the treasure chest and have some Mexican tonight.

My 2009 maple leafs I've are any thing but dull if you are talking about luster and gloss. The queen's head and lettering are brilliant against the matte like finish for the background. Same goes for the reverse. If you are talking about the design, well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is historic and very meaningful to our great friends North of us.

Since this is in the bullion investing section.....I would try to get the best deal for the money. The premiums on the kooks and such are just too high IMHO. Like the others here....you cannot beat the ASE. But that said....I have recently been buying on spot price dips from Monarch Precious Metals. Hand poured/stamped of various sizes.
their customer service and shipping is excellent. And, they will purchase back THEIR hallmarked products for 99% of spot price.

Dtto. You just plain can't go wrong with ASE's.

I want to say that ASE's are the "gold standard" of silver coins...
    but I guess I really shouldn't :secret:

I to would go with ASE with a big BUT though, in my opinon you should have some gold on hand as well? If all you own now is silver i would invest in some GAE,other wise again you cant go wrong with ASE.
