I've been out of the loop for awhile. I had to spend the last 1-2 months studying heavily for a certification exam. I passed it earlier this week so it's a huge relief. I still have many more to go but the door is now open that I got the first one done. I can take it easy now and just casually study for the other exams...

I'm sure your friend elaine would have more insight on things abroad, isn't that what she focuses on?

No, she'll likely just keep posting big numbers as fast as possible, dreaming about large purchases which no one can confirm nor deny the validity of, speculating on US Mint collectible sell outs weighed by published accounts of mintages (units sold)... and then there's the retail/secondary market tracking of auctions and dealer prices on modern US coin issues where she notes the highest final bids achieved and speculates further on which issues can also have potential of doing the same thing via What if...? scenarios. I doubt there will be much input beyond a few CNBC links as to the factors driving the commodities markets from her.

    Currently: In the US market...

    GOLD @ $1,152.10/oz.
    High $1,152.70
    Silver @ $18.24/oz.
    High $18.25
    Platinum @ $1,721/oz.
    Palladium @ $516/oz.

Nice to be back..been spending most of my time on two other hobbies..art (painting) & cycling. Currently have a cold virus (contracted from Yakpoo or another of his ilk!)..so watching Yankees/Bosox & writing this post.

Lastly, on my last post I mentioned the discrepancy re: Coin Talk's post time. Wassup with that?

clock has been messed up for weeks. looks like no one cares and it's just another part of this rickety site that will go unaddressed by the never present founder.
