Well just got this in today, already have built up my stack of moderns to over following which is a good thing As some of you may know, I like to collect , what I call specific year life event coins such as birthdays, anniversaries , graduations etc, have been doing this mostly with 1 OZ GOLD Krugerrand coins, I have identified about 80 events that I would like to celebrate and am only half way through ( 41 coins to be exact ) the problem with Krugers the lions share were minted between 73 - 84 so any dates above are below are somewhat harder to find, havent been able to add a new one in 7 months but always on the look out. As far as my new coin, it has special meaning as well, 1923 Saint Gaudens PCGS MS-63 my dad was actually born on Feb 23, 1923, so am really glad that I can add this example to my collection. Actually found this coin by chance, looking thru liberty coin galleries stock of liberties and when I went back it took me to the saints there on the third page 1923 immediately push the buy button, super fast shipping bought it Wed morning got it in todays mail now thats lighting in a bottle.
Yay, now you're talking! Something about Saints makes me feel good, it's the patriotic look of the coin! You did well!
Looks nice. Did it go for over bullion? I'm asking, honestly, I really don't know. My 1oz Krugerrands I keep tabs on from time to time do, but never by much. Negligible. Got quite a lot, though, so not complaining, adds up.
Theres always going to be a premium so the answer is yes, I dont know of anyone that would sell any MS Liberty or saint for even close to spot. what your Krugers do you have, been looking for some certain dates.
Wait What??? Your wife has got to be a Saint to put up with you're (_________) patients of a saint. Just saying I know mine does... Back on topic, Very Nice. I hear 1923 was an overall good time for the roaring 20's.
Thats the good thing about GOLD its very liquid, thats what I tell here and yes its true, so as long as I am not buying another gun I am all good, was looking at a new H&K but I have to hide money for tat purchase..LOL
Spell checker must be a woman. I know you spelled out Set Aside money it miraculously changed to hide.
I think so, its a good looking coin, trying to see what other years I can do grand mothers and grand fathers would be in the late 1800,s so liberty's there mother was born in 39 so will have to find something different, my wife and I are pre 65 so no Krugers a couple years to early for those, but will defiantly try to find something else.
First issues, I believe. They're in heavy white plastic rolls. Whatever date that was. Got a whole slew from a broker purely as a hedge investment.
first issue Krugers have a pretty good premium attached, my LCS doesn't charge a premium on any year, which is pretty amazing as there are allot of people on the hunt for specific dates.
