Plus incentives it actually does, knowing how to use your card, and maximizing
    the perks is key :)

A continental breakfast is cereal and a piece of toast...LOL, Hampton offers a hot breakfast eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and waffles along with the continental
    breakfast stuff.

And I can get that and more and they call that a continental breakfast. And the chef is there to cook it all right in front of you.

a definition of a continental breakfast from hotels.com, right from the horses mouth
just a token to say I got something for free, doesn't include the more intensive
    omelets, sausage and bacon.

    Why do hotels offer it?
Not only are these items more cost-effective for hotels — you don’t need much staff to tend to a few trays of bagels, pastries, and carafes of orange juice in the lobby — but it’s also easier to manage than, say, cranking out omelets and flapjacks to order. (Of course, some hotels do serve a much larger, more involved, free breakfast.) And guests like the convenience of the food and the perceived value of getting something “for free.”

Spot on mate. Sorry, ain't no way a $2,500 charge equals one night let alone two nights, even in a fleabag motel. Even if you 'know how to use the card'. :hilarious:

Wait and go to a coin show. There is no shortage of high grade PCGS gold at the coin shows in Las Vegas.

    That's a very good idea.
There is an upcoming show in August.
He should go and give us a show report.
The Vegas National Coin Show - Aug 26th - 28th, 2022 in Las Vegas, NV. This coin show will be held at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino.

Nearly all of the hotel chains in the Hampton Inn category offer a complimentary hot breakfast. Even the budget chains like Econolodge usually have a waffle machine, cereal, bagels, eggs, etc. Nothing special about Hampton. I've found them to be ok. Pretty much equivalent to the other chains in that price range

talking about APMEX and AMEX in the same thread was a bit confusing until ... oh, okay. LOL I used to have a AmEx Platinum card at one time. Loved it. They upgraded everything. Get a rental car - regular, auto upgrade to a Lexus. etc etc.. Free meals at the airports exclusive airline lounges. But I haven't had it for a long time now.

I travel allot, and there's a big difference between a waffle machine, a small box of cereal and some orange juice and a hot breakfast, where you would probably pay
like $45 for a family, I have stayed at some fancy places and frankly they dont compare.the reason your at the hotel in the first place is to get
a good night sleep, I like a soft bed and most offer cement mattress...LOL

Before I retired I traveled a lot. Good hotels, nice rooms and other amenities, along with a nice hot cooked before my eyes by the hotel chef breakfast. You can get hung up on words on definitions if you want but the food was good. And the waffles were not frozen and popped into a machine as you imply, they were cooked in a waffle iron while I waited and did other things. In the rooms didn’t cost me what you claim you rooms do. Some of them have even been to Hampton Inn but they are all different given the location of the hotel.

Not sure where your staying ? I stay where the bed is most comfortable and where I get a good breakfast, those two items are at the top of my list !

Yeah… Partially so… I market construction materials. Talk about a crummy business to have in 2022….. The shortages still exist… And the heck of it is, it’s entirely random. I can get solid delivery for two months and suddenly I have a ten week wait…. If you buy a wall locker from me today, I can’t ship it for 16 weeks right now. Just bizarre stuff. I suspect we are not near the end of the supply chain woes…. But they are better… Sorta.

Is this the point at which, per your previous thoughts on Thread life, you classify that a Thread has run its course? I only inquire because the words seem to fit the distinction.

It is very random. I'm in the same business. It's almost funny. It's always the things that folks need the most that get back ordered. It can be tough to move the customer over to something new that will do the same job.
