I don't have a microscope camera but under magnification the spot on the right eyebrow looks like a tiny layer of cameo has come off, revealing a shiny spot. The second pic shows how reflective it is. This is the second time all four of my MS Spouses had a related flaw. Last time (MT) I sent them all back too!
I must say that looking at the coins under magnification gives me an appreciation for the artistry that I never had before; the sculpting is quite beautiful. Seeing the coin at normal size makes the portrait seem kind of awkward; like the first time I saw the Jackson Pres. Dollar, eish! Rendering a face head-on in such a shallow relief is a big challenge.
Cant for the life of me understand why people find these coins attractive, but to each their own! enjoy the coin, its a pretty one.... considering that hideous image on the front and back
