I thought the new lower mintages and unlimited sales for the First Spouse series would increase interest in the series, but I guess I was wrong! :crying: The Mint News Blog reports...
weeeeeeedogggggyyy those coins are not popular. Wonder why!? :goof: funny the mint even thinks something like that would be popular, they have been doing this coin thing for quite a while and it almost seems they are not paying attention.
As has been stated so many times, The mint is going to ruin coin collecting, to some degree anyway. So sad to be honest, think they would learn from the Postoffice...Guess not. Regards, Stan
Well, there are a lot of 1st spouses. As gold coins, even if I wanted to get a collection, I wouldn't be able to afford it. Maybe they should have made these 1 or 2 oz silver coins. Then a collection might be in the cost range of most collectors.
Give it 30 years hahaha... Those are some low mintage's for modern coins... Maybe if you find one in a PF70 Ultra Cameo Holder... sheesh...
Well, you know what they say... 100 years from now this may be thought of as the "Golden Age of Coin Collecting". These are "interesting times" and coins minted during "interesting times" seem to be sought after years down the road. Although...I have to admit...these coins look more like something you would expect from the Franklin Mint vs. the US Mint. :goof:
My thoughts exactly. The coins have become so gimmicky that I'm not sure who they think they are appealing to. It's certainly not the State Quarters crowd at those prices. Imagine your 1st Grader taking in his collection book of First Spouses for show-and-tell! The Brinks truck waits outside while the guard stays with the kid.
