Have you given any thought to learning to fix meals yourself? It would save a lot of money and might result in meals that are better for you.
Mike I don’t think that is the issue. What he is saying is that they are at a point in life where they need to slow down and that going out allows them to take it easy like they need to. I’m sure they know how to cook.
Kind of an ignorant response there Mike since your not understanding the situation my wife and I are disabled, my wife only has use of her left arm the right one has severe nerve damage and is pretty much use less and I have lower back issues so eating at home can be a challenge in itself.
Ouch, I feel that. I've got (for now) a healthy back, but it still gets to be a little painful doing a long prep and cleanup at our normal-height counters (I'm 6'4"). If I had chronic back pain, I'd be looking for alternatives, too.
Its been difficult, especially for my wife she has 5 doctors believe it or not a spine surgeon, orthopedic surgeon, pain management, general practitioner and a physical therapist, that gave her 5 shots in the neck and told here he didnt give her the most important one, I could her my wife screaming in pain from the waiting room ! the doctor was harsh and completely un caring . Firing both the general practitioner and the pain management doctor tomorrow !
I am there "OLD" and continue falling apart each year. I remember my parents complaining about it and now I fully understand... good days and bad days are the norm............ keep moving.......
As Mickey Mantle said "If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself".
Yeah, I am only 6'2" and find counters too low. Thankfully I have a good back, but neck damage from the Persian Gulf war makes looking down so far for extended periods hurtful. Regarding platinum, I mainly stick to platinum eagles. I like the design and before the last couple of years bought them for only a couple hundred over melt on the secondary market. I might own 9-10 ounces total today, (no clue, they are in SDB). However, the warnings earlier are real, PT has a much wider buy/sell spread than other PM. When you go to sell, its even more important to shop around and maybe sell yourself to minimize this spread.
I like to stay as diversified as possible have made a slight detour though, still seeking out B/U examples or a new thing for me collecting and investing in MS-70 and proof coins, have seem some good deals on APE,S in 70 for only $48 over spot ! that’s something that needs consideration for sure
I am assuming BU coins, not proof. Proof APE are a completely different series than the BU coins, and have never found 69 or unslabbed ones for $48 over spot, let alone a 70.
The price would would be plus B/U, so the premium would be in addition to that so I guess the point I am trying to make is if your buying a B/U coin the premium on top of that, sorry if I didnt make that clearer.
Becoming more diverse in my investing style now going to include some platinum and Palladium, I pretty much got GOLD wrapped up but always looking for a good deal, found a nice graded APE for $48 over B/U and it being an MS 70 that’s something you can’t pass up, trying get 70,s and proofs In all the popular bullion issues have my eye on some palladium at the end of the month Just a detour of my main line of investing is all so don’t become to alarmed..LOL
Thought I would post my platinum... A lab I was in many years ago was trashing this out because of the hole in the bottom!
I thought there was pretty much of a closed cycle on those things, with the damaged ones going back the manufacturer for credit on new ones. I got some cool surplus out of my job at a research lab, but never any PMs...
Its a little detour of my main goal of collecting only B/U examples, but when you can get a good deal on a perfect coin I am always up for that I know you have already seen the coin I just got on the other thread, but I am goin to post it here as well as some dont have any interest tn bit coin and wont make it over to that thread.
