Yeah I am thinking that it is about time to pre-order 2022 gold libertads. I am curious because I don't have enough money to buy them all but which ones in the series have appreciated the most over time? Fractional, and if so which one? Proof, Reverse Proof or Business strike? I am thinking of getting either a 1/4 or 1/2 BU coin and maybe a 1 oz reverse proof? Has anyone flipped these coins before, and any word on possible mintages for 2022?
Mexican GOLD is a very good investment, but with that said premiums are through the roof ! as a matter of fact the two displayed in holders are my only two graded examples. I try to buy B/U examples just because at least for me I am focusing more on the GOLD content itself, then the numismatic value, most GOLD coins have huge populations, not so with Mexican GOLD, its very limited 1/20 OZ - 1 OZ very tough !
It’s a B/U coin, and very glossy ! it was purchased from APMEX so not worried in the least bit, as there rule everything is authenticated before anything is put up for sale.
I am a gold panda collector are the libertads similar to collect? I know some have some small mintages. Is their a size that consistently that is lower mintage and more desirable?
Here's one of mine, a 1981 way before the super low mintage craze! I also have a 1/10th I bought from Apmex in 2018 but it's packed. If you want to get into collecting gold libertads, take your pick on the size but just to be safe I would go with the 1/10th size for low mintages besides, fits my budget.
Heres.one of my 1/10 0nce examples, I would start small, but even the common dates are expensive and key dates can easily run over $500 in the 1 OZ versions you can be in the $2,300 on the common dates $4,000 and above on the tougher ones just go on ebay and you will see what I mean. I did post a population report on liberates should be easy to find in a search of previous threads getting late,, will try and find it tomorrow if you dont beat me to it.
Sorry it took so long, but here's the chart I was talking about, just take a look at those low populations and you wonder why its so high...LOL @Tater
