I purchased this giant 16.8 g sterling ring from my local antique/coin shop and it is stamped FM, .925, USA. The Franklin Mint only made 1 mens Celtic cross silver ring and it turns out to have a natural Emerald and weighs in at an ASW .4996 troy oz. all for only $5.32 after tax!!!
Check to see if it's not tungsten wrapped in silver....Oops, that was out of line. I can be so impudent at times. Sorry, it's the frustration with this site this evening.....
Come on guys, I bought silver at 35% under spot value, I thought this would get at least a few kudos in this forum and I can even wear it
Good for you bud! You can't beat that... I wonder if you might not get a better value as jewelry though, over spot. Teasing ya.. looks like you'll be wearing it! You know how I got into this? I do a lot of inlay work on guns for a living, and have about 2lbs of scrap silver sitting in my shop. I priced it out, started reading more about silver (then gold)... and got sucked into the collecting vortex.
Looks good. Wish we could get a bigger picture of the ring, itself. Of course, you might want to visit the thread we have going on Sterling silver....it's an interesting read. Its on page #2, Sterling vs. .999 by BlueIndian65.
Seems like an interesting peice and not a bad buy.... You could easily waste more than that at Starschmucks and not have anythng to show for it... Bigger pic to show off the details better would be nice... I clicked on it and it was pretty much the same size pic, just in its own lil pop up....
Any gold or silver in small tradeable quantities under spot price is a great buy IMO. I have a lot of small bits and pieces, and I would never get rid of them. When I travel, I always have a few with me, because you can trade it in anywhere anytime.
