I have friends who have been in your business a lifetime and they say business is terrible now. Retail clients are going bankrupt. I am sorry to see it happen, families that have been in this business for generations will not be continuing it. They also say that ordinary people are selling, but not buying. I also wonder where is all that scrap going? Who is buying it? Somebody is. It's very interesting what you say about the white gold. My favorite types of pieces have always been the white gold and platinum from my grandmother's youth. It has been very popular in the last decade. So why isn't it coming in for sale yet? Is it because people prefer to part with their less fashionable pieces first? Grandma's ugly bangles from the 1960s? Or is it that wealthier people bought the white metal and they are being squeezed less? I wish you the best of luck, and I hope we will see better days for this wonderful art.
