No kidding the windfall of interest in the bank money market account at 0.45% a month...I'm better off buying twice as much as I need in consumables and packing the junk room.

Just remember to eat it before it expires...I just saw a TV program where guys were eating out-dated food. They tried to eat a bag of Fritos from 1957 or so and just about threw up (they did spit them out).

One good day, doesn’t erase 3 weeks
    in the crapper !

masterswimmer A Caretaker, can't take it with me

One day of selling after three weeks in the crapper locked in those three weeks of negative growth.

Not the best investment strategy, selling low and buying high.

It looks like you are the arrow on those charts saying BOTTOM. :D

You market-timed right out of a nice recovery.
Going from 100% stocks to 0% stocks NEVER works. NOBODY is smart enough or lucky enough to do that over time, not even billionaire hedge funds (MAYBE James Simons of Renaissance, but that's it).

Hopefully, you aren't 100% out of stocks.

You want to add $$$ at the Thursday lows....S&P 4,000.....and then S&P 3,800.

I would be surprised if we go lower than S&P 3,700.

In theory...but as Homer Simpson once said "In theory...communism worked...in theory !!" :D

What usually happens is that OPEX goes up faster than net realized pricing and gold stocks really haven't tracked the metal price on the way up since the 1970's.
A good indirect BEV play. FCX worth a look.

Market valuations are much higher today than they were at the time of WW II, Korea, or the 2 Gulf Wars.

Those lift-offs and wars both started AFTER big bear markets.

I’m never 100 percent out of stocks. If an investor is, he misses a huge winning day like today!

You just have to buy on weakness and space out your purchases. It's too risky -- and hard -- to put all your $$$ to work at "The Low."

I've nailed a low a few times, but more often than not, I don't. If you gamble on hitting it, chances are you'll miss out. So better to always have some $$$ in the market...and if you have cash...deploy on dips.

    5% down...buy....10% down....buy....15-20% down...buy.

Very rarely will the market decline more after you run out of cash. Only 3 times in my 35 year career did that happen or stretch my limits: 1987...2008...2020. Each was a mega-decline.

I like to remain neutral on these matters...its his hard earned money so he can spend it as he likes.
I know people who got out of the market 3 years ago because they didn't like the way their view of state of the country was going.

One person's investment manager said to sell stocks last year and put the money in paper silver.
It's up a bunch, but I'm no investment manager (I told them to get out of paper and into physical)

another person is holding positive and looking forward to buying after the correction (doesn't have any interest in selling high and buying back lower)

To each it's own, I don't have any skin in the game.

There's no right-or-wrong strategy.....everybody is different...the key is to have a plan and STICK TO IT.

I always tell self-professed geniuses with "systems" to start a hedge fund and do it for real. Nobody has ever taken me up on that challenge.:D
Which means that even if the market CRASHES from today's levels, you'd still have been better off just staying fully invested ! Or maintaining your same equity exposure at least.
That's not an investment manager, that's a moron. That's like a doctor diagnosing someone with early-stage cancer and saying "Eat some more oranges." It's malpractice.

Paper silver......I guess Vancouver mining stocks were a wee bit too risky. :D
That's not an investment, it's a SPECULATION. It's like saying sell your stocks and go to Atlantic City. :D
    Better strategy at least.
Absolutely, but you have to do your DD and know what you are doing. Any IM saying to sell a portfolio and go 100% into any kind of silver or PM is guilty of fraud, IMO.

Setting themselves up for a lawsuit, assuming they are even licensed and registered.

So you say over and over again.
If you will tell us how much you made why don’t you tell us your original position and purchase date.

It reminds me of people who go to the casino and hit jackpot of a $1000 and tell everyone they won a $1000 but fail to tell you they lost $1200 on the way out the door.
