Anyone Looking Forward to Buying the Baseball Gold Proof?

Looks like the US Mint is issuing another Baseball Gold Coin at a time when the price of gold has been higher than a kite on a windy day. :D Smart looking coin but my collection has very little modern coins and pre-33 is more my speed. The Jackie Robinson Silver set should do pretty well as many of us remember him because of his All Star years and everything else afterwards that made him a stand out superstar of a player! How about you, anyone looking forward to it? thumbsup.gif

I agree with everything that you say @fretboard but not for those crazy prices. If I'm an Investor then it's a no and on the sidelines for this one but if I had the money and solely a collector for personal reasons then I'm up to the plate!

These have been on sale for weeks already. The Privy sold out first day, the gold has been an absolute flop so far. The medal set has been very disappointing as well but could have some life if it stays this low all year

Yeah I just barely heard about it and I didn't even know about the Privy mark at all.:D I'll sit this one out and wait to see what happens.

The privy should be a long term winner, the medal set might be as well if it ends with a low mintage. The dollar design is actually really nice and a good representation of the sport of baseball. The gold was really easy to see that it would be a disaster. Basically no one does the modern gold commem series and basically every issue sets a new record low. It's not a great design either.

It didnt do any of them any favors having them ship in like April or something like that. I dunno why they put them on sale so early for people to have to wait for months to get it.

Aside from the privy and maybe the medal set they should all be cheaper on the after market like most issues are

I like gold but Mint prices? I am only lucky enough to even have a silver budget. I have four gold pieces in my collection and those completed sets in the registry.

I said no as I first saw the 2022 Schedule. The only "Famous Women" quarters I will have if I buy the Silver Proof Set or the Limited Silver Set, but with the prices, I doubt those purchases.

Yeah, I hear you prices are stupid high! I mean if I was truly into baseball like when I was a youngster that would be different but Andrew “Rube” Foster, was way before my time! :D That said, I did buy one of these American Liberty gold coins back in the day but that was actually the last coin I bought from the Mint, don't know if I'll ever buy from them again.:cigar:
