What 3 coins (between 1900 to date) do you notice the least CoinTalk about? My choices are: 1. Barber dimes 2. Barber Quarters 3. Standing Lib Quarters
Other (Roosevelt dimes) The greysheet supplement in Sept(?) was dedicated to Roosevelt dimes. Basically said a high grade (MS-67+) is still inexpensive to put together. For those with slightly deeper pockets go for the FT coins. I've got a full silver set (no varieties) in MS-66 and PF-67. BTW, I see the math calculator for the poll results has a problem. Six votes so far in six different categories and the percentage for each is 25%. WOW! A total of 150%.
I too had to go with OTHER. Gold coins of all types are always a topic here. Barger anything too is usually a subject. Roosevelt Dimes along with Jefferson Nickels are somewhat ignored. Also, little value, not popular at coin shows, not frequently discussed here or anywhere. They are just to bland a coin for anything. Even in MS grades, Jefferson Nickels are just not really there.
Five dollar gold coins get talked about quite alot, but five dollar gold commemoratives get talked about very little IMO.
And don't forget an option for: eBay :rolling: Seriously though, I'd say U.S. Minted Philippines Coins are the least discussed that are common enough to collect coins followed by tougher stuff like CAL. gold $2.50 coins and the early 1900s gold commems.
I've never seen JACK on Standing Liberty Quarters, one of the most beautiful designs, ever. Y'all are making me wanna learn about them, buy some, show them off, and teach y'all...
Here ya go: • 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter. • What did PCGS grade this 1921 Standing Liberty Quarter? • Never ceases to amaze me.... 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter. • The finer points of SLQs?
bullion nickel So true. Do you collect bags of nickels? or just by the piece? I like the thought of nickel as bullion.
The funniest thing is, I've posted on two of those threads. Nice to read a little about the SLQ on this wondrous Saturday night.
I dont want to offend anyone, Including Jefferson himself But that coin needs a major overhaul!!:hammer:
