Over 50 years ago, I put together a 20th Century Type Set (sans Gold) for my Coin Collecting merit badge. The coin which completed the set was a 1908-o quarter in (roughly) G-4 condition. So I finally upgraded to this one.

My favorite song. I am/was a Mental Health Counselor in Florida treating ADHD kids. I made them learn this song.

Okay, obligatory "crappy mobile phone pics" apology - but I'm away from home, so it's the best I can do.

Picked up this NGC Gen 4 Fatty 1891 S Morgan in MS63 today. Nice color and luster, especially on the reverse (looks almost PL to me, but I'm no expert.)

This half eagle was repaired, but I thought it was a nice example that was priced fairly. I generally try stay away from problem coins, but this is one I don't regret being part of my collection. It was interesting to learn more about John Reich (the coin designer) when researching more about Capped Bust coinage. I feel bad for him because he essentially did many of the designs and never got a promotion and never saw a pay raise in his tenure.

Just arrived. 1892 25c Reverse I. A little harder to find than I thought it would be. They quickly transitioned to Reverse II because the coins wouldn't stack properly, but as the first year were saved in large numbers.

    1892_25_Rev1_HA_AU55_combo.jpg
A lot prettier in hand, couldn't capture it without reflection but here's an idea.

    1892_25_Rev1_HA_AU55_colors.jpg
It completes my examples of all three reverse types. I, II, and III left to right. It's all in the wing tips. The right two are both 1900-P, another transition year.

The guy wanted $4 each ... I gave him $7 for the 3 of them. He was happier than me at the time. I think I’m one of the nine people in the world that collect these.
