Gold may be a good buy right now but I would hate to take a chance and pay $1850 plus for an ounce and end up stuck with it with no buyers in sight! I already paid retail at high prices, don't want to do it again! :D How about you, anyone buying? In the video promoting that gold and silver both are gonna be good, the PM talks start at around 5:45. I think I'll sit it out for awhile. Anyways, anyone buying big gold pieces or big silver right now??

Yeah I really like that American Liberty High relief, beautiful coin but quite pricey, it reminds me of Blazing Saddles, the movie! :D That said, I'm sure it's a really popular coin, glad you got one! thumbupp.gif

Don't forget to report your windfall on your taxes ;)

Hold on a minute. That wasn't even just for you. You said WE found $3.33 worth. Just how many people did you have to split your bounty with? :greedy:

For them it was work to support themselves. Just think of all the fun and enjoyment you had. They didn’t have that. At least you found something. :)

Gold dropped overnight and last check it was at $1784.58. Gold is measured by the troy ounce (31.1 grams/ounce) as most of us already know, which means the smidge of gold flake is worth $3.61 at the moment. Based on the gold ask from JM Bullion…Spark

edited to clarify: I have no financial affiliation to JM Bullion.

That’s cool . How many hours did it take to get it though? Still a fun hobby . I once got a picker nugget at my old place in placerville California

That was about 4 hours of fun.
We went out today to try a few more things.
Removed another 6 inches of caliche to see if there is any gold below the first 3 inches like Barry (another guy in our group) said that there wasn't anything below 3 inches in the caliche layer acording to his findings.
Then started pulling more material from the top side down about 18 inches.
Finding some interesting rock placements that look promising.
Will do the clean up in a few days to see what that yealds.
