Why the heck are Gold Philharmonics so cheap compared to anything else? 1/10 fractional on APMEX; $208. Maple; $228. Eagle; $257. Is it really just a popularity contest? I mean I understand demand...... but $50.00 between a Philharmonic and an Eagle? Wow....

Because there basically the lowest of the low and underrated.Yes because of just being an unpopular and some call it the ugliest design by far yet.Its been this way for years and really is quite sad,I wouldn't bet on them as an investment for gold.

Why not, it's still 1/10 oz gold. Not sure how well premiums hold up.

In this case thats what this is about if the difference is $50 between an AGE and the phlill which would you choose to back up the truck and save for say 50 years then cash out.

Simple answer, not as popular, premiums are paid for coins that everybody want
philharmonics are down the list a bit.

However 50 years down the road, which will be more popular and by how much.

American Gold, such as ASE 1 and 2
plus the Buffalo will always demand
a premium however that same premium
will apply when you go to purchase as
well, so your really just playing even
    at that point.

Chill on the 'fractionals' people. Youse always gonna take a beating 'investment wise'. Save up for a 'one ounce' example......

I would argue that the obverse, The Grand Musikverein Pipe Organ, is waaaay nicer to look at than the dour looking Paul Kruger or an aged profile of Queen Elizabeth. (God bless & keep her.) :)

Moreover, it's my understanding that the Austrian Philharmonics, in both gold & silver, are hugely popular all across Europe and have been since their inception.

Are you talking about appearance or
the bullion it’s self ? I think your
confusing the two, makes no difference
what it looks like from a bullion point
of view, worth the same be it B/U or
    run over by a train.

Yes, US gold coins first as far as price goes and foreign next and many collectors never buy foreign, not ever! I buy foreign but I don't own any Gold Philharmonics. Most of the foreign gold coins I own are pre-33. :D

Why does it always got be ran over by a train... that's a false statement...I'll trade ran overs for BU's especially if its graded I know how much you like graded Bullion..

I think that’s the worst condition a coin
can be in. that’s why I make that reference, I would like to see what this
coin would grade, of course it would
be in a “Run over by a train label”…LOL

All I need is some ground beef, cheese
lettuce and tomatoes and a little sour cream and I would be all set :)

However, I think the shell would be
    a little tough…LOL
